and remember. those that live by the "Sword" .... die by the sword
we just saw that on Ft. Hood.
War in no way to impose "democracies"
It must be "home-grown"

Japan and Germany are democracies as a result of war, so your statement is
false.

Germany was a democracy. more or less, prior to the war. Japan has been a
democracy, more or less, since the war. The LDP had a 54 year run, except
for a brief glitch in 1993. There is no technical reason why the same party
can't hold power for half a century in a democracy, but at that point, why
bother?

Pre-WWI Germany was a democratic republic, the pride of Europe, renown
for its manufacturing capacity and scientific acumen. The reparations of
WWI and the world depression set the stage for a Socialist coup in 1933.

The central banks and manufacturing concerns responsible for supporting
the Bolshevik revolution, WWI and WWII are at the core of today's
economic debacle.

We are witnesses to the beginning of another conflagration.

As I was saying, why bother? If there were truth in advertising, they would
go back to Jefferson's original Democratic-Republican party and save all
the bickering over blue dogs and RINO's.

To answer your question directly, Democrats and Democrats posing as
Republican, or vice versa, have been in power for most of the 20th century
and all of the 21st.
