New York City’s new pilot program is currently set to dole out $10,000 in
prepaid debit cards to crowds of “asylum seekers” living in overcrowded
shelters. Mayor Eric Adams claims his pilot program would begin with 500
families staying at the luxurious Roosevelt Hotel, and could cost upwards
of 53 million dollars.
