STATEMENT BY THE VICE PRESIDENT

"TAKE OUR DAUGHTER'S TO WORK DAY 2000"


I would like to commend everyone who is participating in this
year's "Take Our Daughters to Work Day."

The parents all across America who are taking their daughters to
work are also taking an important step in helping young women discover
their dreams, and understand what it takes to fulfill them.

This important day also helps young women see that some of the best
role models are the ones they come home to every day.

So today, as millions of girls get a first-hand look at the broad
range of opportunities in the world of work, they are also seeing that
their future is only limited by the scope of their vision, and the size
of their dreams.

I thank the organizers of this day, and the parents who are making
it so meaningful.
