Bullshit. The intelligence services routinely eavesdrop on foreign
diplomats. There is nothing illegal about it. Furthermore, you *like*
that the NSA and others eavesdrop on everyone. You think it's necessary
for national security.

Not much of one. It's actually pretty minor.

First of all, there is the nature of what was leaked. While the
material hacked from DNC and Clinton e-mail accounts had political
implications, it had no bearing on national security. The material
leaked regarding Flynn and other Trump operatives meeting with Russian
intelligence and diplomatic personnel *does* have national security
implications. It's not in the content of the material leaked; rather,
it is the confirmation that intelligence services other than the NSA
monitor communications. The confirmation of that fact is damaging to
national security.

Secondly, there is the identity of the thieves and the identity of the
leakers. With the hacked Democratic political material, the thieves are
unknown but presumed to be Russians, with the leakers being WikiLeaks.
The Russians probably committed some kind of crime in hacking the e-mail
and other servers, but that's not remotely comparable with the crime of
our own intelligence personnel stealing and leaking classified
information. The hacked Democratic Party data wasn't classified and had
no reason to be. WikiLeaks, of course, committed no crime in releasing
the data once they came into possession of it.

I'm not at all unhappy about the discomfiture of the Trump
administration over what was leaked about them, even though I am
concerned about the future implications of the leaking. There is a lot
of evidence of Trump being a Russian stooge, and it is good for the
American public to see that.

You didn't read, shit-4-braincell idiot. What did the chump Nunes say?
“The big problem I see here is that you have an American citizen who had
his phone calls recorded.” The chump Nunes knows he can't really pursue
that, because *everyone's* calls are monitored and often recorded, and
Nunes likes it like that - as do you. So, he's going to try to
fabricate a big tizzy over "leaks."

Now Nunes himself is feeling heat:

I'm stating the fact - yes! - that the hypocrite Nunes was complaining
about something he and you like when it's done to someone else. Nunes
and you feel there is *no* crime by intelligence services eavesdropping
on the phone calls and other electronic communications of American
citizens without a warrant. That's what you believe. It *ought* to be
a crime, but you feel it ought not to be because you're a fucking Nazi.

Diplomats expect to be eavesdropped, which is why they use encryption.
It sounds like Flynn made an UNENCRYPTED call to the Russian embassy,
which at least makes the scandal less worse than had the phone call been
encrypted. Still, under the Logan Act, his phone calls amount to a
violation of the Logan Act, since he was a private citizen at the time.

You really can't encrypt telephone conversations unless -both-
telephones are using the same security system*. Somehow I seriously
doubt the telephones at the Russian embassy and Flynn's phone utilized a
common system.

*Well you can encrypt a telephone conversation but unless the guy on the
other end of the phone call is using the same security system, all he
will hear is a series of clicks, whistles, and white noise.

The Logan Act allegation is pretty shaky. I doubt it would fly in court.

True.

So given Flynn's career in intelligence, I rate his (and his Russian
counterparts') chances of not knowing he was using an insecure line at about
zero. Same with the Russians on the other end.

Which raises the question, why did he (and the Russians) engage in those
calls, knowing full well that they were going to be intercepted/monitored?

to answer your questiob try googleing:

I answered it. It is very clear above whom I am quoting saying “The big
problem I see here is that you have an American citizen who had his
phone calls recorded.” You don't even need to see it again - you know
who said it. *That* is what he said is "the big problem," even though
he's lying because he actually *likes* that the government taps
everyone's calls, as do you.

You can stick your phony concern that the leaks were "illegal" right
back up your blackshirt ass. The leaks of the DNC and Podesta e-mails
were *equally* illegal, but Trumpolini and you blackshirts just loved
those. You don't get to pick and choose which "illegal" leaks are good
and which are bad, bitch.

But his lying about it when interviewed for the job is a crime. And
knowing about it for at least three weeks before firing him amounts
to a Watergate-style cover-up for So-Called President Trump.

On a related note, the spokesman for the National Security Council, a
longtime CIA analyst, just quit in disgust. No mention of it on
Breitbart, but can be found on numerous Fake News sites like:

It probably isn't a crime. He already *had* the job; he wasn't
interviewing for it. It was just something that was going to make him
toxic when it eventually came to light.

It's a settled fact: you aren't troubled in the least by the
"illegality" of any leaks. It is only the target of the leaks that
concerns. When it's your child-raping hero Trumpolini, then you don't
like the leaks. When it's the rapist's opponent, then you like them.
This is not in dispute.
