Favorable Review of Prof. Amy Chua's Anti-Globalist, Anti-Capitalist Realism

Some liberal & some conservative thinkers-writers are trashing the
universalizing-exporting of democratic capitalism. That's not news to this
often acerbic n.g. Apparently Chua's take is a very pessimistic & harsh book.
GoshDamn. This review will make you sick or depressed--whatever ideological
stripe you are. I apologize for inflicting/re-iterating it upon ya. Candid,
ugly history & analyses. Attn: Tom Friedmanites, neoconservatives & liberrals
please refute.

Having read a little more about Chua and her book, I see she is an
ex-Wall Street lawyer who "helped" poor countries give their natural
resources and infrastructure away to wealthy private interests in the
90s -- one of the most vicious, irresponsible, and destructive acts of
international brigandage of the late 20th century. And now she blames
freedom and democracy for the results....

according to the book reviews i skimmed,

she is anti-globalism as such,

but she is pointing-out why it has failed in making the lives of the
"majority"-- non-privileged or non-elite or low caste or non-whatever--better

it sickens me to think she's substantially correct

i think tom friedman would (try to) debunk her, though is too busy with world
peace at the present

let's not accuse a gifted intellectual who apparently testifies in good faith
of deliberately initially selling-out her ethics

But she's wrong. It has failed because of the immutable
reverse-Robin-Hood economics of landowner privilege, not free markets
or democracy.

She isn't. Minority economic dominance and the consequent resentment
and bloodshed arise out of landowner privilege, not free markets or
democracy.

She was and to all appearances remains a servant of greed, the root of
all evil.
