A UC Berkeley grad has gained national attention for allegedly
filming a sex tape in a U.S. Senate
hearing room.

The Daily Caller, a conservative media outlet, reported Friday that
a congressional staffer had
filmed a video having sex in a Senate hearing room, but did not
identify the staffer. He was later
identified online as Aidan Maese-Czeropski, a legislative aide for
Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Maryland),
who graduated from Palo Alto High School and UC Berkeley, according
to his LinkedIn profile.

The Chronicle has not independently confirmed the authenticity of
the video or the identity of the
individuals in it.

After the Daily Caller article was posted, Maese-Czeropski released
a statement on LinkedIn, saying
he had been “attacked for who I love to pursue a political agenda.”

“While some of my actions in the past have shown poor judgement, I
love my job and would never
disrespect my workplace. Any attempts to characterize my actions
otherwise are fabricated,” he
posted.

Maese-Czeropski did not explicitly confirm or deny whether he was
the man seen in the video.

According to his LinkedIn profile, he graduated from Palo Alto High
School before attending Johns
Hopkins University for two years and then transferring to UC
Berkeley.

Maese-Czeropski had been working for Cardin since 2021, according to
his LinkedIn, and spent a
summer interning for the late Sen. Dianne Feinstein in 2018.

Cardin’s office said in a statement to CNN that Maese-Czeropski was
“no longer employed by the
U.S. Senate.”
