New World Order Neo-Cons Hijack Republican Party
by Victor Thorn

How can any conservative in good conscience condone the $87 billion that
George Bush recently requested from Congress to rebuild Iraq? The last
time I checked, conservatives were supposed to stand for smaller
government, not bigger government. Now, not only do we have larger
government in this country at EVERY LEVEL (our budget deficit for 2003
topping out at record levels), we're also financing extravagant,
overboard spending in other countries too! This type of reasoning would
be questionable during times of economic prosperity, but considering
this country's current fiscal woes, it smacks in the face of every tenet
held true by conservatives. From my perspective, the Republican Party
has been hijacked by New World Order Neo-Cons in the same fashion that
terrorists hijacked four airliners on 9-11-2001. The result, similar to
that fateful day over two years ago, is disastrous.

To further reinforce this point, here is a dirty little secret that
Neo-Cons don't want everyday conservatives to know: "The historical task
and political purpose of neoconservatives would seem to be this: to
convert the Republican party, and American conservatism in general,
against their respective wills, into a new kind of conservative politics
suitable to governing a modern democracy." (Irving Kristol, in an August
25, 2003 Weekly Standard article entitled The Neoconservative
Persuasion)

As I pointed out in part one of this essay, the most troublesome aspect
of the Neo-Cons philosophy, especially its patron saint Leo Strauss, is
that they have little or no regard for the concept of democracy. Plus,
in the above passage, substitute the words "New World Order" for "modern
world" and you'll begin to see their true motives. For, although they're
not rife to admit it, the Neo-Con movement was founded during the Great
Depression by a group of liberal Democrat New York City Jewish
intellectuals that were members of the media, academia, and government,
and were adherents of Max Schactman, an American translator for Leon
Trotsky, founder of the American Socialist Workers Party, and later
member of the military-oriented wing of the Democratic Socialists of
America that supported the Vietnam War efforts of LBJ and President
Nixon. (Does this sound eerily familiar to the background of other
neo-cons described in part one of this article: Pentagon-supporting
leftists who adhered to big government and jumped ship to the Republican
Party?)

Over time, these individuals turned from the Left because they felt
enough money wasn't being funneled toward the Defense Department,
especially in regard to our endeavors in the Middle East and with
Israel. But this move to the Right is misleading, for, as Kevin
MacDonald writes in Thinking about Neoconservatism, "There is nothing
conservative about their goals. This is most obviously the case in
foreign policy, where they are attempting to rearrange the entire Middle
East in the interests of Israel."

To push forward this agenda, the Neo-Cons have established an array of
think tanks. Below is a list of these organizations, along with the
primary players that belong to them:

Defense Policy Board - Henry Kissinger, Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle
(former chairman), Lewis 'Scooter' Libby (Chief of Staff for Dick
Cheney, and also a lawyer for the Israeli spy and tax cheat Mark Rich),
Elliot Cohen, Retired General Jack Sheehan (Senior V.P. for Bechtel),
Zalmay Khalilzad, and James Woolsey (retired CIA Director) --- contracts
with Northrop, Bechtel, and the Rand Corporation

Project for a New American Century (PNAC) - Paul Wolfowitz, Dick Cheney
(founding member), Donald Rumsfeld (founding member), John Bolton, James
Woolsey, Scooter Libby (founding member), and Zalmay Khalilzad

The Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA) - Paul
Wolfowitz, Dick Cheney (Board of Directors), Richard Perle, John Bolton,
and James Woolsey

American Enterprise Institute - Dick Cheney (trustee), John Bolton,
George Schultz, 14 current members of George Bush's cabinet, and Richard
Perle - former aide to Benjamin Netanyahu, member of the "New Vision for
U.S. - Israeli Partnership," former employee of Democrat Henry "Scoop"
Jackson who was expelled for passing NSA documents to Israel, employee
of the Israeli weapons firm Soltam, and Iraqi war plan architect for
Israel's Likud Party (nicknamed the "Prince of Darkness")

In addition, we also have a pre-eminent Neo-Con named Douglas Feith who
belongs to both the Institute for Advanced Strategic and Political
Studies and the Zionist Organization of America. Feith, by the way, also
works for a law firm in Israel that represents an Israeli arms
manufacturer. Other influential groups associated with this movement are
the Bradley Foundation (which established the PNAC), the National
Institute for Public Policy, and the AIPAC (American-Israel Public
Affairs Committee).

What's even more important in relation to the above names is their
association with EVERY prominent player currently at work in the Middle
East. For example, Dick Cheney was the former chairman and CEO of
Haliburton, and its subsidiary Kellogg Brown & Root (which was the FIRST
firm to be given a reconstruction contract in Iraq by the Pentagon). He
also negotiated contracts for Chevron during the past decade while
Condoleeza Rice was its director, and his wife sat on the board of
Lockheed Martin. Now, during the 1990's, Donald Rumsfeld made it
possible for the Bechtel Corporation to build a pipeline across the
Middle East (while George Shultz - later chairman of JP Morgan Chase
(one of the biggest profiteers from the war) was on its board of
directors). Coincidentally, Lewis Libby (who sits on the board for the
Rand Corporation and is the recipient of numerous Pentagon contracts)
has huge investments with JP Morgan Chase, which was the same bank that
lent Saddam Hussein over $500 million in 1983. Speaking of money,
Richard Perle (who is a personal friend of Israel's Ariel Sharon) was an
advisor for Goldman Sachs, which is looking to make multiple investments
in post-war Iraq. But that's not all. Paul Bremer, who initially took
over the Office of Reconstruction in Iraq, used to be the Managing
Director of Kissinger Associates. Plus, major league Republican players
such as George Bush, Sr., Frank Carlucci, and James Baker belong to the
Carlyle Group (along with members of the bin Laden family before they
withdrew after 9-11). Last but not least, Afghanistani Zalmad Khalilzad
is a Unocal consultant (the same company who is currently building a
1,500 mile pipeline from Aghanistan to Pakistan), while the new head of
post-war Afghanistan is Hamid Karzai (yup, you guessed it - another
former Unocal advisor).

Many of these same men vehemently urged two successive U.S. Presidents
to begin war efforts in Iraq. How so? Well, on January 26, 1998, 18
different PNAC members, including Elliot Abrams, Richard Armitage, John
Bolton, Zalmay Khalilzad, William Kristol, Richard Perle, Donald
Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, and James Woolsey signed a letter to President
Clinton urging him to invade Iraq. This was over 3 ½ years before the
9-11 terrorist attacks. Then, nine days after the 9-11 attacks, these
same men sent a nearly identical letter to George W. Bush urging him to
invade Iraq. But why Iraq? Weren't 15 of the 19 hijackers from Saudi
Arabia, and didn't they train in Afghanistan? Shouldn't they have been
our first targets, especially the Saudis? Why had Iraq been in their
sites for such an extended period of time?

I could continue with this list, but the main reason why I mention these
names and organizations is that it is here, behind closed doors, that
America's real foreign policy is being designed and formulated. Sure,
George Bush and the Pentagon are IMPLEMENTING these decisions, but the
real nuts n' bolts are found within these groups which are being used as
tools to promote the aims and agenda of the international bankers and
their multinational corporations.

Can't you see the scheme that's being pulled over our eyes? Picture it
as a grand Broadway play where politicians are the ultimate implementers
or ACTORS who carry forth the decisions, while a variety of corporate
mainstream media outlets convey the message to the American public
(REVIEWERS - either positive to get the show on the road, or negative if
a new set of actors are required). Beyond them, think tanks such as
those mentioned above, along with the Council on Foreign Relations,
Trilateral Commission, and the Bilderbergs design and formulate the
grand plan (SCRIPTWRITERS), while multinational corporations (i.e.
defense contractors and oil companies) are the PRODUCERS. Finally,
international bankers who control the Federal Reserve, the IMF, and the
World Bank, along with all those companies that build bombs, jets,
tanks, and guns, are the ultimate PROFITEERS of this grand production.

In the end, those decisions made at the top of the control pyramid are
filtered down through the system until, finally, George Bush and the
mainstream media relay them to everyday Americans. The most obvious
problem with this situation is: where do we as conservatives fit into
this picture, and whose main interests are being served - ours as
citizens that want less government, less taxation, and a strong yet
restrained military, or those of certain financial institutions, defense
contractors, idealogues, and foreign countries (namely Israel and Saudi
Arabia)?
