Republicans have done nothing to win the minds and heard of
have of all Americans. Instead they berate and derive half
of all Americans as not being worthy to be called Americans
because they don't support a prsident who had be be declared
a victor twice rather then actually winning the election.
Republicans don't control most of government. They are
merely in charge at the moment. However, because of
successful resistance by Democrats, Republcans have been
effectively restrained from fully enacting their insane
agenda. That resistance will continue and there is nothing
that the Republicans can do about it because they simply are
not smart enough to see that a carrot is more effective then
a stick - although the Republicans have no carrots to offer
since they see any type of compromise as a surrender of
their goals.
Eventually the half of America that espouses liberal causes
will rise to power again. The momentum simply cannot stay
with a political agenda that is not even supported by half
of all Americans. A recent Gallup poll revealed that 58% of
Americans disapprove of GWB while only 35% actually approve
of him. 49% say that they disapprove of his performance in
foreign affairs while only 45% approve of his foreign
affairs performance. 55% disapprove of his handling of Iraq,
42% approve. 53% disapprove of his handling of the economy,
43% approve. 67% disapprove of the way he is handling the
problem of the gasoline crisis, only 27% approve. None of
this particularly indicates that Americans are very
supportive of Republican/Conservative ideology.
So, Republicans, buy a clue. You are alienating over 50% of
America while you keep declaring yourself the victors
regardless of what Americans actually think.

What this leads me to wonder is how does a woman run for the presidency?
The presidency is about power, competence and confidence. Compassion and
humor are also asset, but only as complements to the primary qualities.
Herein lies the problem. Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democrat
nominee, has to reflect masculine qualities AND be everyone's
girlfriend. Is that even possible?
Hillary's public persona is more like Martha Stewart's than Oprah's.,

Machine language is almost useless these days. When I got
started in computers we used to hand code programs and poke
them into memory via buttons on the server itself. Once the
system was up and running we used to make patches to running
programs the same way. But in today's world those things
are mostly impossible. It has probably been fifteen years
since I last worked with machine language or assembly.

Those who ignore Lamm's past are bound to have him repeating on them,
like an old LP with a bad case of the skips. Here, then, is a lightning
review of Dick Lamm's most presidential moments:
1976
In a fit of Nixonian pique, Lamm lashes out at an audience of newspaper
editors for failing to rise when he is introduced. "I want them to
stand, goddammit," he snaps.
Later, the Man Who Would Be King explains that he wants reporters to
show respect for the office, not the man. He reminds the ink-stained
wretches that William Jennings Bryan, three-time Democratic nominee for
president, used to be applauded for hours.
1986
Lamm's final months as governor are tainted by revelations concerning
his "preferred client" relationship with penny-stock kingpin Meyer
Blinder. Combining the financial acumen of Hillary Rodham Clinton with
the selective forgetfulness of Ronald Reagan, Lamm admits that he
invested $5,000 with Blinder and made $20,000--then remembers it was
actually a profit of $50,000. Like Warren G. Harding, Lamm goes to bat
for his friends, however unsavory: He quietly promotes Blinder's efforts
to open a casino in Nevada while publicly denouncing efforts to legalize
gambling in Colorado.
1990
Elder statesman Lamm attends the opening ceremonies for C-470, a
suburban beltway symbolic of Denver's sprawling growth. Fifteen years
earlier, Lamm had vowed to kill the project with a "silver stake."
1992
Lamm returns to the political arena, announcing his candidacy for U.S.
Senate. Once considered a shoo-in for the post, he's now hampered by his
association with American Water Development Inc., a company bent on
sucking water out of the San Luis Valley to further more urban growth,
and by his increasingly alarmist statements about immigration, welfare
mothers and the disabled. Environmentalists squirm over the AWDI
connection; Hispanic activists actively campaign against him. He loses
the Democratic primary but vows to support the victor, Ben Nighthorse
Campbell, who waits until he's comfortably in office before switching
his allegiance to the Republican Party.

Building a road used to be a nice, quiet community effort in the 19th
century. Town folks gathered logs or bricks, met at the starting point
and laid the road to its end.
Federal funding, rights of way, access roads, taxing districts and
colossal egos are now in the mix. Need is secondary to politics and
potholes. While most everybody loves a good fight, sometimes Denver-area
leaders' little disputes turn into all-out donnybrooks -- and rather
extensive and expensive ones at that.
In 1973, the Dec. 5 issue of the Journal announced a "Hearing to focus
on I-470. ... The proposed $75 million highway which would begin at I-25
southeast of Denver and swing west into Jefferson County to hogback at
the Johns-Manville Ken Caryl Ranch, then turn north to link with I-70
southwest of Golden. Those in favor of it maintain it will alleviate
traffic congestion on present highways and major arteries in the
southeast area. Those opposed to it claim that traffic projections
indicate there won't be a need for the road until 1992 and that it will
only add to air pollution and urban sprawl in the southwest metro area.
`I-470 makes no sense as far as land use and planning go, but it makes
good political sense for land developers and companies like
Johns-Manville.' (Fran Taylor, Denver League of Women Voters), referring
to the swing past Ken Caryl, proposed site for the mammoth corporation's
world headquarters."
Pollution impact studies slowed down a start date. A favorable impact
study found that I-470 would, in fact, have a positive effect on the
brown cloud, due to its suburban route. However, then-Gov. Dick Lamm
(May 21, 1975) was accused of withholding the impact study. To these
charges, he said, "According to my information, the situation would be
20 percent worse if I-470 were built." He added, "Rather than suppress a
study, [I tried] to get as much information as possible on the highway.
Lower-echelon personnel in the Highway Department ... made it difficult
for [me] to obtain all available information."
A "source from the air pollution control program" said, "This whole
thing has set us back 16 years and $1.2 million."
The next hold-up came when (June 11, 1975) Lamm "turned on I-470" and
received Denver Regional Commission On Growth backing "when the group
voted to expand its urban planning boundary to include the corridor for
the proposed highway. This move was requisite for even a consideration
of transferring $220 million in I-470 construction funds to mass
transit, as Lamm has proposed."
Boulder County and Jefferson County made a counter move (Oct. 6, 1975)
when "the specter of a `back-door' I-470 was raised by Boulder County
Commissioners in their meeting last week. Jefferson County Commissioner
Robert F. Clement said, `Jefferson County would probably continue to
make I-470 its No. 1 highway recommendation to the State Highway
Commission, despite Lamm's veto of the project.'" Jefferson County had
had a total of 1,300 acres rezoned commercial or residential and badly
needed a new artery (Oct. 22, 1975).
I-470 became the 26-mile C-470 and was built in four stages, with
openings between Dec. 7, 1985, and Oct. 27, 1990, at a cost of $270
million. It has been augmented with E-470, a private toll road
completing the needed connection to Peña Boulevard from all parts of the
metro area.
The cost of the road, which was 85 percent federally funded,
nevertheless escalated by $195 million from its 1973 original estimate.

Just as a vivid demonstration of what a dumbass you are, a
new Gallup poll just released today indicates that a broad
cross-section of Americans would vote for Hillary. Now if
you want to continue showing your ass in this matter you can
try to set yourself up as a higher authority then the Gallup
organization, but at that point you will be in a field of
one because no one will believe you whereas there is
generally a fair amount of trust that is placed in the
polling methods of Gallup. They do make mistakes from time
to time, but not as big as the one you are making.
So what will it be? Quiet acquiescence to those who know
more about this subject then you do? Or will you continue to
take an untenable and irresponsible position that is based
on personal, parochial opinions that cannot be
substantiated? I suspect you'll take the dumb route and
argue against the poll.
Remember, in the end it will be you Republicans who force
the Democrats to run Hillary. But it is nice to know that it
will be Republicans who are responsible for electing the
next Democratic president. If Republicans were smart they
would allow the Democrats to run a more qualified candidate,

Yet bubbling beneath the surface of a perfect candidate warming up for a
2008 presidential bid is the molten magma of a volcanic defeat. Hillary
is the favored candidate of the radical left-wing media, but the open
question is, Can she turn that into an election victory after such a
poor showing as a senator?
Her term as New York senator can fairly be classed as less than
spectacular. Her only connection to the Empire State is not her roots or
her convictions, but her liberal politics. She has opposed a variety of
Republican-sponsored legislation but so far has left no memorable legal
mark.
She campaigned half-heartedly for fellow left-wing senator John Kerry
but carried no states and few votes into the Democrat camp. Even her
politics have wobbled over the last five years, from far left to near
left, in order to maneuver into the perceived center in preparation for
a presidential bid.
She has aimed shrill words at President Bush but only when it could
score her a media photo opportunity. She has been booed on stage by the
very people she let down in New York City after 9/11.
National (In)Security
Clearly, her life in the White House from 1993 to 2000 was consumed with
Monica, Chung, Huang and Vince. Her personal life in the White House
consumed the Clintons, igniting a political passion not seen for years –
with accusations of "right-wing conspiracy" behind the stained dress and
her tarnished image.
Her time was not spent discussing Osama, Saddam or Kim Jung Il. U.S.
national security was not an issue then, and it remains lowest on
Hillary's list today.
She still has not explained her wheeling and dealing during her
husband's term in the White House. Her history and her legacy are
already set in the concrete of the 1990s surrounding the illegal money,
wild sex and party-crazy life of her faithless husband.
Mrs. Clinton does not have the coattails of Bill to ride into New York
on Air Force One. She cannot deliver tons of pork aimed at buying
allegiance, and she cannot deal with her sudden non-friends such as the
Riady family and the Military Intelligence Department of the People's
Liberation Army.
She can appear with the left-wing radicals from Hollywood because that
will raise much out-of-state cash and win her support in the tabloids.
Her political support always mystified me. I have spent hours trying to
talk facts and reason with her most ardent supporters. The only argument
they could muster was that I must not like her and therefore was
prejudiced against her.
250 Times Under Oath
Of course, it is difficult to explain why Mrs. Clinton could not recall,
had no recollection or simply forgot 250 times while under oath.
Clearly, most ordinary people cannot perform such a stunt in front of a
federal judge without spending some time behind bars or in a hospital.
However, the loyalty of her supporters is more closely related to the
"personality" effect – a form of cult or worship of the famed. Hillary,
like Elvis or Capone, can muster a fan club that will overlook the most
dangerous of flaws.
This "fool some of the people all of the time" phenomenon" is a form of
mass mania that can put a vicious criminal into the highest office of
the land.
Still, Mrs. Clinton has her opponents too. Just the threat of her
running for office has kicked off massive fund-raisers and spurred whole
groups into seeking combat with the New York senator.
It is no secret that Hillary's past takes us through a pile of hard,
cold cash from the Chinese army. Chinese army agents roamed the White
House, and Hillary has a photo album of scoundrels to show for her work.
Riady Connection
For example, the one prominent name missing from Hillary's recent "tell
all" book is Riady. Mrs. Clinton failed to mention the Riady family at
all. One would get the impression that the Riadys were not present in
the Clinton lifeline, much less visited (and stayed) in the White House
on a regular basis.
Hillary Clinton certainly overlooked listing the table settings and menu
for White House dinners with the Riadys.
The Riadys knew the Clintons from their Arkansas years, when Moctar
bought out a Little Rock bank. Moctar and his son James were close to
Bill and Hillary through 1992 and into the White House. Moctar even
owned the firm selected by Hillary Clinton to replace the White House
travel office – after she accused the professional staff of criminal
activity and had them canned.
Moctar and James Riady played a key role in bringing the Clintons to
power in Washington. The Indonesian billionaire and his Lippo banking
company managed to contribute large sums of money into the Clintons'
campaigns even though it was against the law.
Moctar's gardener managed to contribute $450,000 directly to Bill
Clinton in a single check. James Riady, Moctar's son, eventually pleaded
guilty to campaign violations.
The connections between the Riadys and the Clintons have a much more
sinister theme than simple foreign money inside the U.S. elections.
Testimony before the U.S. Senate revealed Moctar Riady's involvement in
Chinese espionage. The Lippo Group is in fact a joint venture of China
Resources, a trading and holding company "wholly owned" by the Chinese
communist government and used as a front for Chinese espionage operations.
Mrs. Clinton not only knew the Riadys but took their money as well. To
prove my point I need only to cite photographic evidence. The picture of
Hillary with Moctar Riady is certainly damning evidence of a
relationship that spanned several bank accounts and two decades.
Skeletons
Unlike most good politicians, who bring together support, Mrs. Clinton
polarizes the voters into two opposing points of view. The net result
for the Democratic Party is not a pleasant picture.
Mrs. Clinton has so many skeletons in her closet that I am surprised her
house does not rattle at night. I have written whole articles on Mark
Jimenez, John Huang, Johnny Chung and Webster Hubbell.
After over a decade of Clinton politics, the DNC was beginning to show
signs of life. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes of the 2004 defeat,
the DNC can find a new face to rally behind, or it can stay with the
Clinton dynasty – and lose another election.
