1,000,000+ Guns Added to American Homes in August

Another 1,000,000+ Guns Added to American Homes in August
Background Checks On Firearm Sales Up 12% In August.
Americans buy 1,074,757+ guns in August 2009

Washington, DC --(AmmoLand.com)- Data released by the FBIs National
Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) reported 1,074,757
checks in August 2009, a 12.3 percent increase from the 956,872 reported
in August 2008.

So far that is roughly 9,076,205 gun bought this year! The total is
probably more as NICS background checks may cover the purchase of more
than one gun at a time.

This latest jump in background checks show that Americans are solidly
in-favor of keeping firearms in the hands of law abiding citizens and
clearly shows that proponents claiming the USA wants more gun control
are blatantly wrong.

Gun Owners Say No to Gun Conrtol with their Wallets
The increased trend of Americans buying firearms at a record pace was
once thought to be a one time fluke caused by fears of the new Obama
administration expressed lust for more gun control. But now 10 months in
and the wrongly named fear buying has now become the norm as law
abiding US citizen exercise their constitutional right to keep and bear
firearms by the millions every month with no sign of slowing down.

The bulk of the buying has been concentrated on the following types of
guns or calibers:

* Semi Auto Handguns
* Revolvers
* Ar15s and all variants of the Black Rifle
* .50 Caliber

1.17 Guns for Each Person
Conservative estimates of legally owned guns in the USA put the number
at 355,029,250 million guns in the USA. That is 1.17 guns for everyone
in the USA and if you listen to the liberal press they are all assault
weapons. God bless anyone who tries to invade the USA

Crime Rates Falling
The most stunning in all of this is that we have not seen an increase in
crime, murder rates have fallen across most of the USA and Americans
have shown that they can be trusted with firearms ownership. This is
directly in contrast to what the national media and gun control
supporters would have us believe.

Gun owners you are clearly the majority!

Yes, here in Illinois, I usually buy 3 at a time so the 1,000,000 number
is probably low.

We sure can. Ww can buy handguns or long guns 3 at a time as often as we
want. We can also carry a gun in our unlocked glove compartment or console.

But not in certain municipalities.

http://www.myillinoisdefenselawyer.com/2009/06/17/chicago-handgun-ban-still-in-effect/

Chicago Handgun Ban Still In Effect

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Despite a challenge from the NRA the handgun ban in Chicago was upheld
by a U.S. Court of Appeals panel last week according to the Daily
Herald. This means it is still against the law to possess a handgun
within the city limits. While a similar ban was struck down in
Washington D.C. earlier this year, there will be no changes to the city
ordinance in Chicago.

The 2nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees the right for
citizens to bear arms. This Amendment is constantly being disputed and
defended by different groups across the country. The National Rifle
Association (NRA) is one of the groups that works tirelessly for gun rights.
The NRA challenged the legality of the municipal ban following a similar
ban being struck down in the nations capital. The difference: Chicago
is subordinate to the State of Illinois while D.C. is directly beneath
the laws of the nation.

In 1982 a similar ruling in Illinois upheld a ban in Morton Grove. This
ruling served as precedence for the latest ruling and precedence, or
following legal rulings similarly, is major component in the U.S. legal
system. Accordingly, the Second Amendment doesnt have to apply to
states if they, or their municipalities make laws to the contrary.

In Chicago it is legal for individuals to own rifles or shotguns.
However, weapons including automatic or semi automatic handguns are
banned, as are concealed weapons.

Although these restrictions exist within the city limits, other
communities in the state also have tightly regulated gun laws.
Everything from the type of firearm you are caught with to where you are
in possession of it at can affect if you will be charged criminally for
possession of a firearm.

For instance, being charged with possession of a firearm at a bar is a
Class 4 felony. It is also a Class 4 felony to be caught in possession
of a firearm when you are wearing a hood or mask. Things like sawed off
shotguns and silencers can get you a Class 3 felony charge and a much
longer potential sentence.

It's really definitional as to what is "use at one time".

That's kinda up to others isn't it?
I would love for them to be only for sport and enjoyment.

But there are some who might someday disagree.
There was a home invasion by thugs not 1/2 mile from here last week.
They might decide it's my turn next.

I get that action all over town and here in Vancouver as

So why d they bother ppl with legal registered guns.....because it's

In a Home Invasion case, no matter what colors they are wearing,
it's an infringement on your God Given rights as well as a lot of common
sense and survival intentions.

I see a lot of zombie sheeple, who don't care for jack, whether they

which the victim rarely has, unless you're real kool, and just as prepared

With a gun, *The Element of Surprise* and *knowing your territory*
is all the advantage you need to win...friend or foe.

Most of us have some substantial property that we don't want to give

survival instincts.

The ppl of a lot Asian populace have been fighting for it all their
lives, and some big armed gang under the posse comitatus act find it
interesting to invade their ass, since they are foreigners in Asia, and a
piece of paper like the posse comitatus act may be a reason why they aren't
doing it whole hog here/homeland.

In the unnerving event of a home invasion, will you wear ear "sonic

decision, and a lot of LEOs sleep with sonic suppressed "sonic baffle" ear
plugs, to dampen some ACP rounds, because they hit at 155Db++ tympani

I find trying to sleep with a lot of different "sonic baffle" ear
plugs to be a bit uncomfortable and a painful earache in the morning....any
other sound muffler would not alert you of the home invasion.

Maybe they are for a defensive sport.

If you stop and observe what sort of ppl go to ranges, you'll find
it to be a mixed category, ppl of all different worlds and intents.

There are all walks of life at shooting ranges, leos next to
possible mafias, gunsmiths, plinking paper punchers, ISU, IDPA, ISSF and
other social competitors.

If you go to an ACTS *Competitive Tactical Shooting* event, that all
sorts attend, the inclination of guns as being nefarious is more pronounced
when they use Full and Semis of High Caliber *Rifles*.
ACTS *Competitive Tactical Shooting* in the *Handgun* department is
surely purely defensive, unless you expect to snipe with a "derringer",
which is unlikely, unless your me.

You'd like to check out the "piece", see if the gun works right with
FTF's and stovepipes corrected, also get used to a double tap recoil
alighment...pretty hard to do on most .45 ACP+ "ball" ammo and higher
handgun calibers...

Just because it comes NIB, doesn't mean it's gonna work in the real
world.

If you do a 20 meter 2 inch circle, you would be devastating at a
10ft range....if you use a compensator "muzzle brake", you have to get used
to were the sound and gasses are really going, before they bounce off your
face.

Hearing protection?.... keep it handy,....is your life worth your
hearing?... Is the piece of shit your shooting even worth shooting...Raking
Slide?....Loud Warming Shot?....or just a Bang Fuck Your Dead?

Not really, it all depends on the size of your "backyard", but say
50 yards, then would you expect an accurate shot from an ACP, it wouldn't be
that lethal in "ball" ammo at that range...

Most self defense are well within 20meters, but anxiety and lack of
training with a heavy pull double action gun can send a bullet right off
target even then....

It all depends what handgun you are used to shooting with, if your
good at 20 meters, you should be good at a real panic attack situation at
12yards.....practice with your layout and guns, then put it away and do
something useful, like fixing your car or charging your batteries or
something....
If you try too hard, in similes, you'll usually fail with that
system in real time....it varies, it's also equal to the last time you used
your fire extinquisher...never?....then you won;t be needing a gun more than
that, but wasn't it good when you put out that mattress fire with your fire
extinguisher or bucket of water....same thing as having a gun for self
protection.

Home guns and Fire extinguishers are a good comparison for usage,
along with how to turn the mainline or natural gas valves, a handy key or
wrench is useful in emergency events.

Not to the court. It all depends on whether or not a "reasonable" person
would believe that they or an innocent third party were in *immediate*
fear of death or serious bodily harm. Kinda hard to claim that at 100
yards in the vast majority of circumstances.

Most self defense fits the Rule of Three. Three yards, three shots
fired, three seconds.

Much of what you accomplish under stress is muscle memory.

I practice with a gun. A fire extinguisher, no.

But not for time practicing. You see, I enjoy shooting so it becomes a
hobby. Using a fire extinguisher just doesn't have the same panache.

I never seem to be in that situation, *Rule of Three* is usually for
one assailant, but I seem to be faced with a lot of 5 assailants,it seems to
be a magic number there, me against the gang of 5....

But the *Rule of Three* is seems to be typical in most advertised
cases....

Then I would suggest that you piss less people off. ;)

Sleep well tonight,

RD (The Sandman)

Let's see if I have this healthcare thingy right. Congress is to pass
a plan written by a committee whose head has said he doesn't understand

it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it or allowed bipartisan input,
signed by a president who hasn't read it or provided the public with the
C-Span overview of the plan or the process, with funding administered by

A lot of ppl don't like me because I'm not a British subject, YOU on
the other hand could not possibly have that problem.

A lot are jealous of my property wealth, and they retaliate by
trying to destroy my property to satisfy their childish, vandalistic
problems....a lot of ppl have that problem!

5 Scuzzbags against ME is not an easy fight, but with a handgun
there is an equalizer there....making me the winner....so far.

If the vandals are all armed, well ALL the better, it will give me
something to stand on in Court when I try to defend myself from the
prosecutor's allegations as well.

I been there before, it's sheer nerve wrenching hell, and very
degrading, as they treat you like shit till they have to eat it "when God
gets there" a lot of ppl have that problem, but I win the case.
I get my guns back, and the vandals are back on the streets knowing
that I may armed, so they don't even crack to me but do remote annoyances
short of doing a drive-by on me.
