that was suburbia !

the training areas are in deserts or isolated places
maybe because they use explosives
I dunno

but come on!
that was a street they were walking in

Me a lib???? I would never use a sledgehammer on a pimple. Thats what a
wrecking ball is for. And you don't drop a 500 pound bomb? If your going to
fly over there and drop a bomb, use a 2000 pounder. The pilot gets the same
pay for dropping a 500 or 2000......might as well "supersize" the order.

1) You have no idea where that video was taken

2) You have no idea when that video was shot. It could be 10 years old, it
could be 4 days old.

You don't have a clue. That plane could have been four miles up. It was
more than likely night time. Did the group have a loud radio playing? Was
there a strong wind blowing? Could the targets have been drunk? There
could be any number of reasons why nobody was trying to hide or run. They
may not have heard the plane.

That's what I think. Also, the perspective changes
in the last 5 seconds before the bomb hits. Its a
computer simulation.

It was from a CAS (Close Air Support) mission in Fallujah ..

Nope. The sight is trained on the targets and as the plane passes
over, it remains trained on the target. It's not a simulator.

The closer we get to the election, the more sedition, treason,
and death threats against the president we'll see from
the Left. Especially as they realize Bush will more than likely
win.

now that you mention it , It was the worst case of empathy I had experienced
watching the people falling, and imagining the fear and the horror that
would put a person in a position
where jumping out of a skyscraper was the best choice

actually they suffered more because they had some warning before their death
these guys had none
so it was a quick painless execution

but I gotta say
the feeling I have for 911 victims are no longer at the forefront of my mind
as far as victims go
the more clips I see like that
have a kind of equaliser effect
or at least shove those memories back a notch at a time

your comments kind of insults their memories, don't you think?

just one thing
how does killing Iraqi's avenge 911 victims again?
I forgot
so much spin about
please
set me straight

these are not movies with props
its not a video
its a visually documented/recorded event
happening now in Iraq

I have to wonder , don't people have the right to protect their
land from perceived invaders

I mean Iraq has their Govt eradicated overnight
that had a domino effect
with the rest of the civil service following suit,
cops and army included.

what did the US expect to happen?

oh of course , the people would be so grateful that they would welcome in
with flowers and praise

hearts and minds yes
hearts of hatred and minds filled with planning revenge

if the US was not so far away
this "war" would not end for centuries
Islam has a long memory

seems like somebody rushed this
wonder who the brains of this operation was?
what idiot?

oh that's right bush/rumsfield

You guys have your fun for now
but, what if one day martial law is declared in the US.
This technology is going to be used on you and your buddies.

and as horrible as it sounds
That would be poetic justice
the last thing you hear in the 10 seconds before the missile hits
is the echo - "I told you so......."

also
there is little human emotion involved
if you can't look your enemy in the eyes

and the same goes for the pathetic suicide bombers - fucken cowards every
single one of them

it's so much easier to hit the button if all you see is a monitor

It happens because the camera on the aircraft passes over the target
point.
The aircraft makes a turn to keep the target in view, which
rotates the camera relative to the target.

Islam considers all land to be theirs.
Any place where infidels live are perceived as invaders.

My guess is that these 'individuals' didn't obey the curfew.

ie:They died...

It's a WAR.

Us vs. them.

Why don't you just relax and let the military save your

maybe you could just go to Bali and see what happens

back a few years, that's exactly how Clinton fought in Kosovo. No boots on

Now that we have a Republican President, behold a Clinton supporter who is

wage a similar one against the US that it's not a really great idea.

I have no sympathy for this enemy and I damn sure have no sympathy for
the Muslim people.

Compassion is best saved for enemy forces and populations that come to

>

It doesn't. What so many people fail to realize is that this a war
Islam has declared against the West. The evidence of this was best
expressed by the millions of people who danced in the streets post
9/11 celebrating our dead in the middle east. There are countless
stories of support by Muslim charities, governments, businesses and
Muslim individuals who have directly supported those who seek to
destroy us.

What's happening in Iraq is the beginning of this war. A war that -
mark my words - will become a World War before it's over. We are in
the opening volleys.

And sadly - civilians die in war. That's the way it is.

And to put it bluntly - better theirs then ours.

You are under the mistaken belief that what is being portrayed in the
media and the words spoken by our government is indicative of their
real intent.

It's my guess - and I could be totally wrong - that this war into Iraq
was a strategic move.

Anyone who plays chess can see what is going on here.

We now have forces centered in the middle east - and on both sides of
Iran. In chess - the goal is to position ones pieces prior to
launching the attack. Interestingly, this is also a lesson the
Islamicists have learned well, too. Unfortunately for them, they
seriously underestimated our resolve and willingness to turn them into
charcoal stumps if and when the time comes.

Any further attacks by militant Islam and we have forces in place to
take control of and secure what IS important in the middle east - the
oil.

And if osama decides to nuke a few US cities?

Islam will be turned into a cinder inside of 2 hours. Barring of
course the oil fields in Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

If one looks at the bigger picture this all makes perfect sense - and
is a brilliant strategic move by the Bush administration.

Hey dummy. Let me ask you a question. Give it serious consideration
before you answer.

Do you honestly believe - the US would dump a 500 lb bomb - launch an
F16 - plan and execute an attack that no doubt cost upwards of perhaps
hundreds of thousands of dollar - perhaps millions (when one takes
into account the cost of the weapons involved, the needed support,
etc.) - purposely - against a group of civilians out for an after
dinner stroll?

Seriously. Do you really believe that?

If you were a commander - would you launch attacks against groups of
civilians or do you think it might be more plausible that the goal or
military objective in war MIGHT be to kill those who are trying to
kill you?

I know this is really reaching and it's a tough question, but try and
put away your hatred of everything American and just keep it in
perspective of strictly the context of winning a war.

Phantom I have read this and your other replies in this thread
and thank you for taking the time to articulate.

I fully understood the points you made
and could hardly fault them.

In fact , you can say that I have been better off in reading your views

This NG gets sidetracked with a lot of lies dressed up as news reports
with insults flung about to further distract
it makes it hard to focus on anything.

I wish I could accept war as calmly as you do , I guess it helps
when you can put things into perspective and read between
the lines like you seem to be able to do.

That's the problem I have, I find it so difficult to justify
the killing, it would help if we were kept more informed
about what is happening, all the secrecy and lies, expecting us
to have blind faith.

Perfectly stated.

And one can see that the core and foundation of this hypocrisy is an
outright rabid hatred of the Republican party.

What has this resulted in?

And enemy who uses this hatred to it's advantage and to further divide
us.

And the most repugnant thing about it all is the stupid liberal
democrat is so engulfed in this hated they can't see what the enemy is
doing.

The Islamicists laugh every time a democrat opens his mouth.

yes, and so does anyone with military or combat experience -
smoking the locals is done all the time - sometimes for effect, sometimes by
mistake -
the attitude becomes that they're just zips to smoke. And a scared local is

So scare the shit out of them, and most will huddle in their holes and do

To the individual saying that is was a fake. It is a genuine video and
the sound track is not faked either. Its from Fallujah back in April
2004.The image is from either a LANTIRN or Lightning pod from an F-16
or F-15. More than likely an F-16. The aircraft is dropping a laser
guided munition which is redirected from the building by a forward air
controller onto the group of individuals. The altitude of the aircraft
is is the top right hand corner of the screen approx 15,300 feet.

LANTIRN pod details:

or did curfew's start after the blockade?

If so are they shoot to kill on sight curfews?

A tad strict don't ya think , if that's the case
rules are broken all the time
I mean that's a good way to win hearts and minds
shoot to kill curfews

were the nazi's that strict?
I know in the movies it seemed that way,

ok armed people who break curfew will get shot, fair enough

Here is the kind of "thinking" that makes islam backwards.

From a post today:

* Only 370 industrial patents were issued to people in Arab
countries between 1980 and 2000. In South Korea during that same
period, 16,000 industrial patents were issued.

* No more than 10,000 books were translated into Arabic over the

The reason Islam is to blame is that such a high percentage of muslims
believe there is nothing to explore in the world, that the koran is
the "final revelation" after which nothing else is important, and that
this "final revelation" is all the "truth" they need. Islam is such
utter poison.

The fastest growing 'religion' in the world is......

NO RELIGION

Modern humans are leaving the regiments of organized religion en masse
in
light of the knowledge and experience we have gained over the last
several
centuries.

Muslims largely missed all of it.

They missed classical philosophy and the industrial revolution, and now
are
so far behind, and dependant on the modern, industrialized world, that
they
are ill-equipped to make reason from reality. The accelerative nature of
life in this new and global digital domain is just too much for those
stuck
in the preface.

Muslims wonder for an instant, then dismiss how those that are supposed
to
be inferior and misguided are living at a higher standard, are richer,
and
have more power that they.

The most educated, free, peaceful, innovative, prosperous and developed
countries on the planet have relegated religion to a private, personal
matter, and one of many that compose our lives.Secularism is growing.
Modern entities of civilized governance realize that if people want to
be
religious, they can, just don't expect that state to have any part of
it.

Peoples of other traditional religions have gotten together, worked,
learned
anew, built things, and built things that build things, while Muslims
have
been kept ignorantly sheltered by bearded old men with narrow realms of
knowledge or understanding in ideologically homogeneous societies.

Muslims have played hardly a part in the development and evolution of
modern
mankind and the philosophies of life that race across the globe.

Peoples with roots in other religions have scholars in many disciplines.
Muslims have but one.

Now that our little planet is all connected and people and information
can
travel anywhere, Muslims can't cope with their collective inferior
status.

It's humiliating for them.

Something must be wrong for them to be in such collective bad shape and
with
the scorn and consternation of all they encounter, but they just won't
allow
themselves to admit that it is them, and their reliance upon religion.
They
make claims of supremacy, chastise others as being off-kilter, and
engage
in
defensive gang-mentalities.

It's delusion, and the repression of it breeds resentment, envy,
depression,
and psycho-neurosis.

They need to get over it.

The rest of us have.

Where humility is required, Muslims exhibit defiance.

To do otherwise, of course, would shatter their ego, their self-worth,
in
essence, their raison d'être.

But that is exactly the wake-up call or slap in the face they need.

The most brilliant of thinkers are brilliant because they can reason,
adapt,
and modify their way through new information.

An old saying is that the only thing that never changes is change.

Time waits for no man.

Except Muslims.

Muslims have been, and are being increasingly pressured to believe that
the
greatest truths of life and man are already known by them and are
untouchable.

No need to look forward, as they already know all the answers.

They see themselves not as students of life, but as the professors.

Why take the test, when someone already gave you all the answers.

They're in one 1,400-year old book authored by one man.

Period.

No questions asked.

Wrong answer.

Peoples from other religious lineages are balancing their religion with
the
new realities of life, and generation by generation, the balance is
shifting
in favor of the realities on the ground now, and not the misplaced,
archaic
ways of ancient times and the myths of some judgement and afterlife in
the
future.

We humans thought up many gods long ago, revised it down to a few later
on,
and ended up with one quite recently.

Most of humanity is now politely ditching that last remnant of
pretending
to
be in grasp of our origins and designs as per long-dead or nearly-dead
theologians, without any guilt whatsoever.

Muslims were the last ones to claim revelation, so we can expect them to
be
the last ones to figure out that it's a bit of a sham to fool ourselves
into
thinking we know what we don't and keep us in tow.

Sure, draw some morals and support from examples, but put it in context
and
realize that tomorrow is a new day that may be very different from
yesterday, let alone the tribal ways of 14 centuries ago.

We've learned quite a bit since then.

We all just wish Muslims would hurry up and join the rest of the
rational
world instead of resisting so hard to keep their heads high, with all
the
over-compensation so dangerously plain to see.

Peace.

MHM.

yeah , fair enough.

I have been in many a debate with Muslim friends over things like science,

there is no debating
they claim, and sincerely that the Koran has the answer to everything
and with the honesty and look of a child , they show me

I'm still friends, but they don't come around anymore

it's a shame because most of the Muslims I have met

Of course they don't do it "for an after dinner stroll".

For heavens sake, the internet was a team work, between US and many other
countries, not an "American gift to the World" as you seem to think.
It all started in Switzerland, BTW.

Mostly faulty intelligence?

I would say a more reasonable assesment would be "sometimes faulty" or
even "infrequently faulty'.

You infer that most of the time we will be blowing the wrong people to
bits based on faulty intelligence. I think your argument is weak.

But - it's a given that in times of war, mistakes will be made.

You might want to take a look at an interesting article on just this
topic:

Yes, they've been on the path to Democracy since '79 now. We should

actually that is a valid point,

I seem to recall reading about the warnings
and scenarios, seeing the photos ,placards with messages that
not many could have the foresight to understand

The US had many anti-nuke protesters
warning of how the balance of power will shift not
to the brightest country but the ones with the most arms

also if more money under the guise of foreign aid
is spent on education rather than arms , we
might not have this trouble

throw a pile of books instead of bomb

and don't say they would burn them
because funnily enough, that is not
an Arab idea

I made a mistake here. What started in Switzerland was the Web, not the
Internet.

> not the technical manuals I have read
> the US military got the ball rolling

Part of it was the Arpanet, thenetwork developed by the DOD. Anyway, if
there were not other networks to connect in other countries, it would have
remained a national Intranet of regional utility.

As recently as 1992 I used a parallel network, named BITNET, that was
connected to the Arpanet.

It was a team work, as I said, not an individual ideia.

Of course not.
They were Swiss citizens, living in Switzerland, who started the WWW.
Not everything comes from the States, you knew?

> I'm happy to say thanks to the US for the net

If you feel that need...
Well, much of the work was made on their universities, that's a fact.

that's a huge difference

its like the significance of automatic transmission along side
the significance of the invention of the motorcar

my understanding of events is-
the military paid for the development of the network for its own interests
it couldn't use it as a weapon so it allowed the universities to use it
as they put in a lot of the work anyway.

it grew from there

and I for one am glad

rest of post is moot now

Actually, they had been well on their way to democracy in the early
1950s. Then the US decided to overthrow their democratically elected
prime minister (who was daring to assert sovereign control over the
country's resources) and installed a dictator instead.

This is nothing new. American soldiers are cowards. They shoot or
blow up anything that moves. If they see someone entering a building,
they blow up the whole block.
When I hear of an American soldier being killed or injured, I have to

That's crap!not to mention perverted.
The soldiers are merely following orders.
You obviously have never served or no nothing about serving.

My objection is with the people who send these men and women and make the
orders.
Most of these guys (mainly the ground troops) should never have served in a
culture so different
from their own, without a lengthier lesson about the Arabic way of life.
If only for the very least as a sound military tactic.

I know it's only human , that's why I felt that the war on terror should

Yep. Unfortunetly, I DO believe that the those people that sent
soldiers overseas WANTED them to hate and use those terms... It makes
it much easier to kill if you dehumanize your enemy. I still wonder
what in Hell the US is trying to accomplish in Iraq. It's a big
disaster. The Bush Admin and Media are spewing a lot of crap about
'terrorists' causing all the problems in Iraq. What a bunch of bull!
What the US is literally doing is using highly advanced weaponary
against people that are pissed off because their land has been
invaded, and controlled by a foreign nation. The 'terrorist' label is
just thrown around way too much.

Nobody deserves what the US Admin has done to the people of Iraq. The
people in Iraq have all the right to be pissed of at the US
administration, and those who support the inane actions being done by
our soldiers. I agree that soldiers are not the main blame for the
actions being carried out. I am sure there are soldiers that are
genuine in their wanting to help Iraqis, but that doesn't take away
from chaos that has been caused by the invasion. The Bush
Administration has carried this out in the stupidest manner possible.
Everything that could've possibly gone wrong, HAS gone wrong.

The pre-emptive strike on IRaq has only fueled hatred for the US for
years to come. It hasn't brought freedom or security, it has brought
oppression and fear. I feel sorry for the IRaqi people that have had
their lives destroyed, and then labeled 'terrorists' because they
didn't want to sell out to the American Empire... I also feel sorry
for the soldiers who will and have lost their lives, while old farts
in the White House play with their lives as if they were toys in a
sandbox. The most irritating thing about it all is that this war is
being fueled by money coming out of honest American's paychecks, and
done in the most undemocratic way possible. The US is not a
Democracy, it's a freakin wanna-be dictatorship!

Even Bush said it himself:
"If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so
long as I'm the dictator."

Well, with comments like that, I wonder why the US Army is in Iraq
looking for 'Enemies of Democracy', when they are actually here in the
US of A.

No , Iraq is now a political hot potato , I doubt even he wants it back.

But seriously , I suggest that treating the Iraqi people with more respect
would only help things.
Give them their pride back. If it's not too late already.

Maybe then the interim Govt with the help of the CF would get the right
information
about where the real troublemakers are , the non-Iraqi "insurgents"
and they can be dealt with, so that Iraq can start getting on with it.

Imagine how easy that would have been if the Iraqi's helped out.
If they had been truly won over in the first place.
Maybe that WAS the plan, but it sure as hell didn't work out that way

Great idea, we should also pay them in cash for all the damage we caused.

You're free to write a check, assuming your mommy lets you have a checking
account.

I do, just used it to send your mom payment for servicing my dog. Please
let her know the "check is in the mail" and my dog says he's had better.

"we should also pay them" translated into English: "everybody but me should
pay them".

Which would explain why your dog won't come out from under the bed.

We have killed and maimed civilians. Contaminated their land with
radiation. And are steeling their oil.
I'm going out on a limb here and assume it's too late.

That was the Nazi's excuse.

No, I have and will not serve in the military. I will not be
pawn for a bunch of rich fat fucks in Washington.

Let me get this straight. The people that flew planes into the towers
were Saudi Arabian. Yet, these inbred soldiers are angry at the Iraqis.
The gene pool needs a cleaning. Lets send more inbreeds to Iraq.

Isn't that what happens in all armed conflicts?

Contaminated their land with

Really? What kind of radiation?

Please provide evidence we are steeling their oil.

Maybe if you were to jump.
