In the wake of the Hamas takeover of Gaza, Palestinian President Abbas
has kicked Hamas out of his government and expressed a willingness to
renew Mideast peace talks. The EU has renewed aid to the West Bank, and
the U.S. will soon do the same. To promote the West Bank's new moderate
course, I urge that a West Bank Bank be set up to provide loans to West
Bank residents, including micro loans of the type that have lifted
millions out of poverty in the Third World. I believe that most of the
West Bank's employees should of course be West Bankers.

Please contact President Bush (The White House, Washington D.C. 20502;
202-456-1111; pres...@whitehouse.gov), your Senators (U.S. Senate,
Washington D.C. 20510), and your Representative (U.S. House of
Representatives, Washington D.C. 20515) to urge them to sponsor or sign
legislation setting up a West Bank Bank (employing West Bankers) to help
develop the West Bank's economy in an environmentally responsible way.

Good idea. But who'd want to be the West Bank Bank Bank Manager? Edward
Woodward would!
