If you follow trials with police as defendants, you will notice the
police are almost always acquitted. Juries won't bring a guilty
verdict because they have been given no reason for one. Juries don't
know the game that is being played on them.
This is because the DA bends over backwards to present an incompetent
case when she must prosecute a policeperson.
This is why cases of police abuse almost never succeed. Only if there
is an outrageous crime or if a heavy-weight like Al Sharpton gets
involved, will the police be convicted for abuse.
This is because the ruling parties -- democrat and republican -- need
loyals servants to keep themselves in power and keep the present
system operating. They make sure their people are not convicted so
they will remain loyal to them.
If this is true in the case of a policeperson, it is even more true in
the case of anyone with more rank in the government. This means
America has a whole class of people, working for the government in
some way, who get acquitted for the same crime you or your child would
be convicted of. This is inequality before the law.
This means that all officials of the rank of police and higher get
special treatment from the DA if they are on trial.
This violates the principle of equality before the law. If you or your
child is on trial, The district attorney is not going to try to throw
the case.
When the DA gets you or your child convicted, that's called "the rule
of law."
