You seem to be making your problem a little bit more
complicated than it needs to be.
Why "bump into someone" when a midnight visit with a lead
pipe will suffice, and if the someone is hard as nails then
you need some re-inforcements.

GPS devices don't come cheap. And I suppose that hooking something up
to a GPS reciever to make it transmit its location would be even less
cheap.

What a bunch of dicks. I thought this news group was better then this.
This is a viable question, (though not on this NG) Maybe flaming for
posting to the wrong group but you're all being dorks! As to the
question if you need to do it cheap, and you have friends, this could
work. Http://internettrash.com/users/cyberthief/index.html On there he
has a file by "ford perfect" called bug detector and tracker. Either
under phreaking, or misc txts, if you don't find it keep looking all
over the sight, it's there. Then do some research on a triangulation
and you might be able to do it. But you could always do like Homer,
follow the yellow drip road. I hope I was able to help.-Hawkeye 6.49

Well, let me throw in my 2 bits, and maybe some raw meat to keep the sharp
tounge of Nipper out of your back...<grin>...
You say you already know a few private investigators...My first reaction is to
say, go to them for the tech Q & A...There ARE quite a few civiallian avalible
tracking devices that can be as complex as multi-grid displaying GPS's to
Rat-Shack simple "Beep-Beep" boxes...You'd be better off going to them for the
actully equipment, since they'd more than likely have to experiance of
utilizing it fully...
However, if for some reason or another you cant do it electronically, you'll
have to go back to the old-fashioned Mark-1 Mod-0
method of just following at a distance.
This is especially effective if you have time...That way you can mark the
pattern & habits of your subject...If you know at Wed at 2pm he likes to get a
slice and a Coke from Luigi's on Elm street...nuff said.
Basiclly, its only as effective as you are...if you can bring in more people,
you can cover more area, of course (which brings in/up those investigator
friends of yours)...Between at least 4 people in 2 cars you can follow anyone
in a metro city with a 75% chance of not even being noticed, especially if the
person is not looking for survailance in the first place..Good Luck!

Everybody would hate it, and we'd seem even weirder for liking it than
we do already. Do you want every bimbo on AOL to know the following?:
-Why God is dead.
-What the meaning of life is.
-The unfortunate concequenses of when whales appear in orbit.

Well, i know this "kid" wouldn't mind being Batman...but not that nitwit from
the tv show...Im more partial to the Dark Knight, Tear-Open-Dat-Ribcage Batman
thats soooo fuckin cool...<grin>...
Plus, think of all the fun you can have phreakin with all that money, eh?
The best place to take a look is in the back of Popular Electronics/Mechanics
Zines...They'll usually carry ads for tracking devices or other such geegaws
that fit the parameters you're looking for....If money is THAT important,
Radio Shack also sells "do it yourself" type hoppy kits, that while not EXACTLY
like the other stuff, are more basic, and still get the job done. Other places
that fit between the two extremes, JAYCO eletronitcs, MTM Eletronics
shops...Try a global websearch for Hobby eletronics, and survalence gear...
>Problem is, the matter has already been discussed with my friends at length.

Probably true. But they dont have to be all that sofisticated on technique.
Other than knowing how to stay far enough away from the mark, and /or know how
to drive and use a radio. If they can do that, and are pretty ordinary looking,
they can do survalence. Remeber you need people that can think and, well,
bluntly, warm bodies in that reguard....
>Already thought of, too. :) Unfortunately, all known patterns pertain to
>locations where the subject would go but where I would have no reason to be.
Ok, then- thats when the extra warm bodies MIGHT be needed. Otherwise, indeed,
your SOL. If your mark has a somewhat set schedule (Home to diner, work then
home) its not so bad. You know the place, you'll have time to examine the
layout (alternate exits, line of sight, restroom, communitcations, etc) and set
up your watch area...You dont have BE in the same room, if you know that once
he enters that room, he can only exit one way
True, its harder when its a place where it'll have multiple exits or he's
somewhat random, but you can only find out by watching right now, and doing a
common-sense evaluation...

Doesnt HAVE to be large scale...Like i said, you can be effective, from what i
read of your problem, if you follow your mark with 1-4 people. It all depends
how good you wanna really cover this person, how far your willing to go, how
much $$$ you can afford...(always the great equalizer)

No problem.
Too late sport...Read HHGTTG, and the spin offs eons ago, and still enjoy

well..

Bimbos on here, send me thier email address, been looking for years for them on

God isnt dead, he's just ignoring you. The meaning of life is 47 (so whats the
question?). And thats not a whale in orbit, thats Rosie O'Donnell...She finally
got so full of it, she floated away. And good fuckin' riddance.
Have you read all of the HHGG books yet?

That was a reference to HHGG.

It's 42. And the question is "What is 6 times 9?" or "How many roads
must a man walk?"

But wasn't it funny what happened to that unfortunate whale?

Thats odd...Well, i know i've seen GPS systems wayyy cheaper than $700...Lemme
see, ummm...Try a company called Gander Mountain, they sell outdoorsman stuff,
they usually carry GPS basics stuff for about $299 (est)

Remeber KISS, guy!...You can mark out the more obvious ones the mark might use.
Figure out if he's knows he's under survailence, if not, then you take away the
doors which is limited access (service entrance, time-controlled doors, etc)
compared to public access areas....Find out what time the building locks up,
what kind of security level is in place (24hrs? Mobile Guard force? Cameras,
etc etc)...Get a few notebooks, and use them all- Remeber, information is your
weapon.

Well, thats a risk you'll have to assess...Even by using one extra person, you
reduce your load by 50%, while increasing your effectiveness by 100%...Plus, a
different view by someone on a problem can offer better solutions...
Just about..no wait, dont think i read "Mostly Harmless", yet..
>What's "Red Dwarf" like? I've heard alot of people talking about it.
Real cool show (rumors that it would be done here in US but still a rumor,
mostly cuz they wanted to "change" the show for a US audience, go fig)
Basically, the show is about a guy, Dave Lister, whom after being put in stasis
for not turning over a pet cat for quarentee (and dissection to make sure that
its not carrying any of those nasty plauges...) is awaken 3 million years later
by the ships computer after the radiation leak, caused by Listerss roomate,
Arnold J (Judas) Rimmer, who now is a hologram on the ship...Along with the
Kat, whom evolved from the orignal cat that Lister had brought onto the ship,
that was saved from the radiation leak by being locked in the hold...Oh, and
did i mention, the Ships computer, Holly, that after being left alone for said
3 million years, pretty much lost, oh about 90% of the 6000 IQ he had
before???...
Thats just a generwl outline for the story, for the full rundown (a few more
details left out by me, cuz its EARLY! in the AM here) of the show...Its way
great scifi and i would LOVE to see it on the SciFi network, but if your not
into British comedy, its sometimes hard to follow...Not really technical, but
alot of laughs...Try www.redwarf.com or do a gobal search for same...

think she's onto me!..

Never.
I saw a couple of them. They were okay. I remember this one where
everything on the planet was done backwards and at the end one of the
guys had to take a shit. . . use your imaginations. . . .

"NOT INTO BRITISH COMEDY"!? I have seen all but two of the Monty
Python episodes and I bitched at the Cable company when they changed
the BBC network we had to that damned BBC America.
I am off to make some fjords just past Lake Shore Drive. The guys in

One of the better episodes...Its amazing really how popular the series had
gotten in so short a time..But i think its partly due to that Brit tv, unlike
here, if the show isnt popular enough, it gets axed forthwith...
