Calling COCOTs & other payphones

Has anyone out there actually logged on to a private payphone? I've played with
this function but have had no luck -- usually just connecting at 1200 bps (if at
all) but nothing after that. If you have any input on this, email me. COCOTs
are actually fun to call anyway (voice, that is), because some actually
interrupt a person while they're pumping in change for their call. (The one by
my school says "Incoming call" and then cuts in.) Has anyone out there had any
similar experience?
