Why is it that when I go to http://www.php4.net, I get the standard PHP
website, but when I go to http://php4.net, I get YellowQuest website.

Who the hell is YellowQuest?

The site being pointed to is probably on the same server as php.net.

The server is most likely using host headers rather than unique IP
address's.

I understand the websever is sending you to the wrong site because it
doesn't fully understand the URL that you are looking for.

This is a known problem that can be resolved by the web host.

The reason is, both the names are pointing to the same ip address, however
the server is using virtualhosts to server a number of websites using a
single ip address. They have not created a virtualhost for php4.net, and so
it returns the default site for the server, which happens to be YellowQuest.
