Has anyone traveled AZ 13 over Buffalo Pass?
I'm thinking I may go from Farmington to Canyon de Chelly that way.

I haven't taken that route. However there are some folks over at
alt.binaries.photos.original who have covered some of that ground, and
I am sure the will respond if you pose your question there.

I just took a look at the map, and from Farmington, once you cross the
State line into AZ it looks as though you will possibly have to deal
with up to 5-8 miles of unpaved sections of Indian Route 13 in AZ, as
it is within the Navaho Reservation straddling the AZ-NM State line.
Things might have changed and it might be fully paved now, but I would
check with locals, or AAA.
