Retractable lens cap strap system

MANY years ago I bought a nifty little lens cap strap system that screws
into a camera's tripod socket and has a self-retracting mechanism
attached to a clip on the end of the strap.

The kit came with a set of three little matching sockets that glued to
the lens caps...and the clip snapped/locked into those sockets.

The whole thing was really slick .... and now that I just bought a new
Rebel XT I'd like to buy a new set of these.

I've searched lots of places...but no luck.

Anyone know where to buy this item these days?

Interesting idea; I'd be tempted to slap something together myself,
using a spring-loaded ID card holder. There's be lots of ways to attach
them to the lens caps... SOOO many times I've almost misplaced my lens
cap, only to find I'd stuffed it in my back pocket or something.

I bet I could bodge together something useable fairly easily, but if a
commercial one is available that'd be great too.

What BD said. <GGGG> Buy one of those retracting badge thingys and attach
it to your lens cap and use the clip on the back to hook it to your camera
strap.

Jessops in the UK do elastic cap keepers. One end sticks to the cap and the
other sticks to the camera body or wraps around the lens barrel. Try
www.jessops.co.uk and look for "cap keepers".

Hama may also do these gizmos.
