Both of them were taken with a 70-200mm lens, the apertures were 2.8 and 4,
respectively. If I remember it right, the focal lenghts have been between
150mm and 200mm.

Thanks for posting.
It's only a very minor semantic quibble, but your gallery "True Life" is
interesting, but I think that photography is always representational more
than documentary - although it's a matter of degree. "Street Photography"
might be more accurate. You're only getting people for a fraction of a
second, which means that you found an interesting image to make; this often
gives the viewer a glimpse into something about true life, but I think often
not much more than that.
You do have some very pleasing images. I find boats appealing
(www.ctlow.ca/Trojan26), so enjoy the nautical images scattered throughout
your gallery.
Would you say something more about yourself as a photographer? Are you
looking for critique? Any particular images from the hundreds you have
posted that please you most or with which you aren't as satisfied as you
think you should be?

Yes, you are completely right. My reason for preferring "True Life" was that
I wasn't looking for the kind of contrasts I would be looking for in case of
"Street Photography". For example,
http://galleria.vierumaki.com/photo.php?photo=854&exhibition=12 would suit
"Street Photography" better in my mind, maybe I'm making my own definitions
here ;-)

I'm absolutely looking for critique. Being an amateur, I haven't yet found
my cup of tea. On one hand, people are interesting, but I also enjoy "still
life" kind of photography. I have only been semi-serious about photography
for a couple of years now, so I have a lot to learn and not least of myself.

Besides the one above, I was expecting for more comments on Coolio
(http://galleria.vierumaki.com/photo.php?photo=948&exhibition=14). I have
received many comments on Girl in Black
(http://galleria.vierumaki.com/photo.php?photo=958&exhibition=14), but
photos like http://galleria.vierumaki.com/photo.php?photo=825&exhibition=12
and http://galleria.vierumaki.com/photo.php?photo=833&exhibition=12 get much
less attention. Maybe I should get the point ;-)

I am new to this group and know nothing about photography. I am just
reading everything to see what I can learn. I do know that I love your
photos. I am in no position right now to say more and I know so little that
I would not even know what questions to ask. I do know what I like.
Betty
Betty, thank you a lot for your kind comment! I'm very very happy if my
photos have been of delight for you. I think everybody is in a position to
say what he/she thinks - level of profession does not count. Of course, no
need to say more than one is comfortable with.
