How callously dismissive the authorities are being toward what many
here would consider tragically common. Two men snap and go on a
shooting spree (which may posters here have warned for years would
continue). Rodriguez was divorced, last employed making submarine
sandwiches and claiming bankruptcy. Hasan was faced with deployment to
Afghanistan. The “newsreels” also showed the plight of

“When one reporter asked Rodriguez why he did it, he said, "Because
they left me to rot," as reported by the AP… Renato Gonzalez, a
manager at the firm said, "I know that we was not very happy with the
layoff. He took a little worse than most people."..”

“..He was by turns caring and contentious, a man quick to say "I am
blessed" in casual greeting yet one who seemed to stew in discontent
that he could not always keep to himself…”

Yet with these and more horrific stories making the news, seemingly
bereft of any notion that perpetrators are themselves victims.
President Obama went on television, to give voice to a nation in greef
and with regard to the Hasan case and over concerns of Arabs in the
military stated, “"We don't know all of the answers yet. I would
caution against jumping to conclusions until we have all of the facts"

As I was rummaging through the vast amount of news articles for
another heart-wrenching story about a man living out of his van which
was televised on CNN Headline news, my attention was captured by yet
another holocaust story. This time it’s a report indicating a higher
than normal cancer risk by survivors.

“..Crumbs and decomposed food sickened Betty Potash Gold and her
family members, causing diarrhea and bloody vomiting, as they hid from
the Nazis.
Although Gold lived through extreme hunger, mental duress and near-
death experiences during the Holocaust, she and other survivors face
another peril decades after the war.
"Jewish survivors of World War II who were potentially exposed to
the Holocaust were at a higher risk for cancer occurrence later on in
life than those not exposed," concluded a study published in the
November issue of the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.
Intense calorie deprivation, such as what Gold experienced, has long-
term effects on survivors, said Dr. Micha Barchana, one of the study
authors….”
http://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/11/06/holocaust.survivor.cancer/index.html

Given the current state of the economy and the rampant volume of
people’s suffering while the authorities seem reluctant to examine or
acknowledge what average people are gong through, we still have time
and resources to reminisce about the suffering of one group of people
during the second world war. In the case above, the JNCI may have a
diversity issue to consider.

Men have been complaining in near silence for over a decade about
their plight in Family Court and dealing with economic hardships
brought on by continuous boom and bust cycles. From their perspective
these tragic stories can’t be surprising. In fact, this author is
surprised there are so few tragedies given the extent of the burden
and placed us coupled with the lack of understanding or willingness to
address the problems. It is certainly enough to make men question the
nature of their current reality and wonder if they’ve been in the
words of Rodriguez, “left to rot”.

Where seemingly ever other group in this society have experienced
significant change in the past century, it appears men are still
cannon fodder.

The Carpenter movie "They Live" captured the effects of the ruling
"Lizards", ie feminists in this respect. Our sexual natures, as
demonstrated here by "Roy", makes it difficult to identify the problem
and therefore confront it. We need special glasses like in "They
Live" to see it. When we get them the Roy's of the world need to put
them on.

Good article Moderator.

Let me see if I’ve got this straight. You personally relate and
empathize with the post but rather than support the view of its
content, you choose antagonism as a more effective means of addressing
the problems. Ok, I’ve got it. Thanks.

Yes, it was a very good article. "Moderator" likes to "play to the
audience" with his moans and groans about how society has fucked him
around. Instead of sitting at his keyboard and posting the same drool
for months on end, why doesn't he seek some help from competent social
agencies?
Obviously WE can't help him as he loves to wallow in his mire of self-
hate and failure.

Whenever anyone gives advice, he promptly calls them idiots and
dismisses them...as he really isn't interested in a solution for his
problems and just wants to strike out at his ex-wife and society in
general.

I'll make sure to go through the decade of posts and carefully look
for any advice that I have dismissed. While I'm doing that we can all
be assured that any problems individuals are experiencing are due
solely to their own shortcomings and nothing external or systemic.

Lack of gumption? Great. That should be easy to correct. Lord knows it
can't be anything else that explains a global disparity of wealth. lol

“…Kerry was a preschool teacher until a year ago, when her world caved
in. "I got sick," she told me. "Ulcerative colitis. Ended up losing my
job, and ended up here. Ran out of health insurance and money and this
is what happened."
John, a shy young man who used to work as a barber, told a rambling
story about bad breaks, crooked employers and jobs that didn’t pan
out. Now he passes the time playing with two pigeons he rescued and
tamed as pets..”

Mark Lepine thought much like you do...then he went out and killed 14
female engineering students who were "competing" with him. That solved
the problem, didn't it?

Robt Kaplan, "Imperial Grunts" notes half the Green Berets grew up on
family farms. This is but 1% of the total population providing 50% of
the nation's most competent soldiers. You'd think the Pentagon would
notice. Or at least read military history, going all the way back to the
Romans, who realized soldiers who grew up in the city were not nearly as
emotionally stable and reliable as the farm boys.

I could, and often have, go on about why this is so. But we are where we
are, and its only going to get worse. The number of cops who flip out is
going up as well. Part of the reason we call it 'going postal' is the
rigid power structures the military, police, and postal service have,
and how that attracts psyches that need draconian control, but also
better case management.

But there's not enuf case managers. Corporations pay them much more to
do personnel selection and management.

It would help to not send Christian soldiers into a Muslim culture.
Islam has been fighting Christianity for 1200 years, and they know how
to do it. It is secularists they are really afraid of, who will not
martyr them, but put them on meds to send home to their mommas where
they will be good boys.

The Russians were incompetent at managing the Beslan school hostage crisis:

But they got one thing right - reportedly sending the Chechnyan
terrorists home in pigskin bodybags.

I'm thinking that UK (only) is a multi cultural civilization anyways.
USA use English language? American English and USA English are slighly
diffrent. The Politics are so diffrent. USA is closer to South America
politically that to Middle East. Subjects and history will be debated
as is? but we all have the right to thrive non the less?

UK is a very small place, and I suppose the attitude is that the Brits
cant afford to bring small debates into language that are really
smaller and very intense?

National service is voluntary in UK as necessary, and I just cant see
we just can't afford to lose.

There aught to be some stablity in the US that can be a touch point
for every person in their land.

The Holy Bible has an old testament and a New one.
Jesus is in the New testament?

In the UK there are also old lores regards deformation and privacy,
regards the rights of people and settlements in the lands. We respect
(or have had a respectful view of the united 'settlements over several
thousands of years)
