save less than 3,000 lives every ten years.

In sharp contrast 400,000 die every ten years from lack of health
care.
Like Yossarian in _Catch -22_ most Americans don't care how they die.
We just don't want it to happen.
You get a lot more bang for the buck with health care than quagmires
of mass distraction.
