Hi David! Welcome to the 'grove'..

Hmmm.. seems quite a few -- down them parts write here.

Mind over matter? :-) :::Glad::: the hurricane didn't stop you from
interferring in writing to us. My! It must have taken a long time to
write it. That all is well (and for others who write here). As far as
getting 'introduced' to Rick (rsattich) he's kinda of a taoist
'bouncer' for this 'dance' floor.. Although it's freely chosen, he's
been most aidful, if and when you might find interest to review the
history of this a.p.t. newsgroup.
Whether by hook-or-crook :-o -- thanks! for providing your excellent
credentials. A valued asset for much that we can share here and learn
from (paradoxically, unknownst, if it weren't for rick --tx guys..)
Oh p.s. now that some intro's over, David, do you feel the ttc1/2
have hindu yoga aspects involved in it? re Lisa's recent question?
Especially regarded within Tibetan Buddhistic esoterics? Now that
would be new here too :-) Tx in advance!
Regards!

If we can get enough of these Doctornine caliber philosophers we might
get some good informational flow going.

Excellent Excellent syllabus David..
It's well worth focusing on their breakdown..

Ya mean like, in esoteric himalayan "dzyan"??
my fave! (in colloboration with the ttc/ct of course :-)
but gotta go beddy bye tho..
ya took most of the evening!

offering an egg-enclosed lard-filled

>According to new theories, Dzogchen -- which itself has many
parallels with Chan teachings -- itself arose through the interaction
of Bon (second-stage Bon, which already reflected Buddhist influences,
not the original more purely "shamanistic" Bon) and Mahayana Buddhism
with -- yup -- Taoism (daojia). So there are actually great
compatibilities, and each system can, should one be so inclined,
supplement the other without necessary contradiction. Yet there is
also certainly no "Tibetan Buddhist" influence on the DDJ. <<--

To relate a bit here, I liked what "ht" said about part of the
"practicing aspects of Taoism". That in particular, "One branch (call
it Xue(2)-Wen(4) branch) is the philosophical study of tao, which is
to search truth and what really is."
For an agreement with what ht said, and focusing on the later quote,
one may see quite clearly the purpose of the philosophical branch of
Taoism --if not-- the total purpose *underlying* Taoism itself.
As oft stated by scholastic researchers the philosophical TTC is made
for *rulers* --> the "light in the head" that gives conscious purpose
for the 'why's of phenomenal living; is studied for the truth of it as
"what really is"..
Now the Chuang Tzu is (literally) so *bamboo-stripped* to be difficult
(but not impossible) in accessing its *ruling* attributions also, -->
for the en-*light*-enment <-- that's below its *shadowy*-surface. >g<
Look for Cook Ting, Carpenter Shih, No Toes, Mr. Lame-Hunchback-No-
Lips, 'Confucius', dealing *Light* to cicadas, little doves and frogs
:-).. of a higher self intertwining on it's lower self..
jes the light -- and its shadow..
fading out,
