I don't honestly know why some people believe that the golden rule is the
only religion we need when it clearly isn't true... I suppose Jesus had it
together when he ranted about hypocrisy because really, ranting about
hypocrisy is really a trap unless you have a means to escape retribution.
The Church at Laodicea, The Lukewarm Church is a church that proves that the
golden rule is not the only religion that we need... The Church at Laodicea
is a church that expects criticism as a means of knowing what God thinks of
them. Guess what? The Holy Roman Catholic Church was modeled from the
start after the Church at Laodicea. The Holy Roman Catholic Church will do
whatever it takes to conform with the model set by the Church at Laodicea...
because... They don't want the golden rule to be the only religion that we
need and, therefore, it is not the only religion that we need. This should
be obvious enough if you consider that while the Catholic Church is
ritualistic, ritual is not important in the Catholic Church... There is a
huge body of theology attributed to The Catholic Church but... theology
isn't important to the Catholic Church... The only,... *only* thing that is
important in the Catholic Church is charity... and if you ever forget that
for even one moment, then you can expect to be *rebuked and chastened*... if
not by me then by someone who is almost as smart as me... Don't tell me that
you are going to turn the tables on me because of the golden rule... Is it
because you want me to *draft* you into the service of God? I didn't think
so, so why go there?

The real problem for The Golden Rule is masochists. What
about them?

My auntie is a cloistered nun... is she a masochist by your definition? In
a way, I should be scared of her if she is a masochist... You know, the
first (and only) time I met her there was kind of a sharp point-counterpoint
between us that neither of us expected... I'm from the mean streets... I
don't know if auntie knows anything about reality... I suppose it is funny
for some of you to imagine an argument between a nun and her nephew... but
something snaps in me when I perceive a wedge being driven between members
of my family.
