Okay – This discussion is about programming a pair
of V/R (Virtual Reality) Glasses with the following
relativistic space-time METRIC: –

Where a=a(t) represents the changing size of the
world as seen by a growing child or young adult under
the age of 20. As people grow larger, the World
consequently grows smaller! It also becomes
slower by the same factor – for the first 20 years of
our lives

a=a(t) begins at around 3.5 at birth and slowly
decreases at the rate of about 5% per year moving
downwards towards 1.0 (the true size of reality).

UNFORTUNATELY it never reaches 1.0 – and in fact
for the world average adult human being, by actual
measurement (WHO, UNESCO, etc. data) it actually
only goes down to about 1.20 !

IOW the average world adult is looking at a world that
appears almost 20% LARGER and FASTER than it
actually is ! And historically this unnerving phenomenon
HAS BEEN UNIVERSALLY CALLED "GOD" !

Okay – this is clearly the WORLD'S LARGEST PROBLEM
and World Religion has been dealing with it for at least
5000 years of recorded history !

THIS PHENOMENON is known to be the primary cause of
what is referred to as "Mental Illness" – and enormous efforts
have been expended to try and cure the problem !
.
HAMMOND having discovered this SCIENTIFICALLY
RELATIVISTIC fact, has proposed to program a pair of
VIRTUAL REALITY GLASSES equipped with cameras
focused on the real surround – and simply programming
the V/R output to:
.
1 – reduce the SIZE of the image by 15%
2 – reduce the SPEED of the image by 15%
3 – actually a variable control knob could be included
...... to control the percentage of the magnification
.
And people will be allowed to watch ordinary reality
wearing these glasses !.
.
OBVIOUSLY you would only be able to do so by watching
"Spectator Sports"– because the "slow motion" component
of the image removes the person from "real time".
... IOW for instance you would not be able to drive an
automobile while wearing these glasses or engaged in
any activity where the person must remain in REAL TIME.
.
HOWEVER – it is believed by this author that by wearing
these glasses for many hours, watching real human activity,
that the person will eventually begin seeing a
"SMALLER and SLOWER WORLD" when he isn't wearing them
– and that this psychological change in the person will
DRAMATICALLY change the person's personality,
interest level, enthusiasm, energy, happiness, etc. etc. etc. !

I urge anyone reading this post who knows anyone in the V/R
community – to IMMEDIATELY send them a copy of this post
to help urge commercial research R&D people in the V/R
community – to start solving this problem !

OBVIOUSLY – anything that will significantly impact the World
Mental Health problem – involves the generation of
VERY BIG MONEY !! .
.
Incidentally – some Wag is said that he believes "They've
already done that" – which CAN'T POSSIBLY BE TRUE
or the entire world would know now about it !

Your theory might have an analogy with the similarities between the Chinese
characters for adult male (fu) and god (tian). If you take the character
for male adult, and simply move the horizontal line depicting the head, up
to the top of the vertical line, which is about 20% higher, you now have
the term, god.

As you can see in my article, My Philosophy, my concept of God is that He
is the infinite limit of every possible promise that can coherently
co-exist. So, in my book, 20% taller and faster are not only infinitely too
short and slow, but they’re merely two ideals of infinitely many.

The import of an infinite limit, I admit, is not so easily accepted. See,
below, the entry in the Century Dictionary for the term, humanism.

“humanism, Since 1903, the doctrine that there is no absolute being or
absolute truth not relative to human faculties and needs. The term was
proposed by F. C. S. Schiller to designate the general philosophical
opinion of himself and Professor William James. These writers deny infinity
of every kind; and it is likely that this denial will be considered as
implied in the term. It is not logically implied in the above definition.

has long been formed in history and literature, and to denominate Humanism
the attitude of thought which I know to be habitual in William James and in

translated to ‘adult male’ and ‘god’, respectively.

Hello Matt Faunce – I have read all 3 of your recent posts.

Not only are the Chinese symbols for man and God similar,
they are both similar to the cross of Christianity which is the
most widely known symbol in world history!
.
The reason for this is the "Cartesian Coordinate System"
of 3-dimensional space – the human body is a living, walking,
talking "Cartesian coordinate system"..
.
The body has 3 orthogonal axes
1 – the left right symmetry of the body is the "X" axis
2 – the dorso ventral symmetry is the "Y" axis
3 – the spinal axis column is the "Z" axis
4 – hence "XYZ geometry"
.
It is the same symmetry which causes all higher animals,
including man to have "4 feet".
.
The cross of Christianity is symbolic of this Cartesian,
Human Body, geometry. Hence It Is Symbolic of Man.
.
The Cross of Christianity is in fact identically the
Cartesian Coordinate System. !
.
THE POINT IS MATT: – you cannot "explain God" or
"explain reality" by simply using "Philosophy"
.
EXPLAINING GOD requires at a minimum: –
1. Physics
2. Mathematics
3. Biology
4. Psychology
5. Philosophy
6. History
7. And Theology
.
In order to explain or "prove" God you need all 7
of the above disciplines – and then some !

So as you can see from this and my above remarks,
publishing my theory in the peer-reviewed academic
literature – is absolutely out of the question – there isn't
anyone in academia educated enough or intelligent enough
to REVIEW THE THEORY !. (I'm 81 years old by the way,
and have been researching this theory around-the-clock,
nonstop, for 40 years !)

publish it myself, at my own expense.

A bit more on 夫, 天, and humanism.

A Source Book in Chinese Philosophy, by Wing-Tsit Chan, begins with this
paragraph:

“IF ONE WORD could characterize the entire history of Chinese philosophy,
that word would be humanism — not the humanism that denies or slights a
Supreme Power, but one that professes the unity of man and Heaven. In this
sense, humanism has dominated Chinese thought from the dawn of its
history.”

On the next page, he explains a bit more what he means by the term,
humanism. And he follows the term ‘Heaven’ with ‘T’ien’ in parentheses, so
we know he means 天. Here’s that paragraph:

“Similarly, belief in the Lord underwent a radical transformation. In the
Shang, he was the supreme anthropomorphic deity who sent blessings or
calamities, gave protection in battles, sanctioned undertakings, and passed
on that appointment or dismissal of officials. Such belief continued in the
early Chou, but was gradually replaced by the concept of Heaven (T’ien) as
the supreme spiritual reality. This does not mean that either Heaven or
spiritual beings did not continue to be highly honored and greatly
respected. But their personal power was supplanted by human virtue and
human effort, and man, through his moral deeds, could now control his own
destiny.”
