Clicking sound on my Phillips 765

When recording record albums or cassettes to my Phillips 765, I hear a
series of clicking sounds at the beginning of the recorded disk. It
doesn't seem to matter if I turn on the record switch or the
album/cassette first. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a
solution? Thanks. Bob
