Mary Kaye is absolutely right about the laws in California and
Tennessee, you'd have a better chance of getting a serial killer paroled
then you would getting a permit to own, legally, a domestic pen raised
skunk. Like Mary Kaye, I have had skunks in my life for nearly 19
years, and yes, I too, have been bitten by the abused, sick and injured
ones that come our way. As of this date, I have not begun to foam at
the mouth nor do I have a fear of water. The main reason many states
will not allow skunks as pets is the lack of a rabies vaccine for them,
tho there is one made here and tested and approved in Canada. If we can
get it approved here we might have more states open their doors to these
beautiful animals. I have a petition available asking the manufacturer
to test and recommend use here in the US. If you are interested in
helping, email me your mailing address and I will send you a copy of it
along with a copy of our info. pack. Ginny Laut American
