We got a new Columbian Red-tailed boa a few months ago. She is great: perfect personality, eats well, etc.
But, recently, she had a "stuck shed." We managed to peel her manually with the help of Shed-Aid.
Suddenly, she's becoming lethargic...weak. Wouldn't eat. So, we took her to the vet, and he proceeded to tell us how to force fed her.
So, we gave her "Repta-Boost" via a syringe. Then, we force-fed her a pinky mouse.
I've had snakes for 40 years and never saw this condition, but I think it might be Inclusion Body Disease, which is terminal.
She sometimes sits with her mouth wide-open. I see no "bubbles" or any sign of infection. Nor does her mouth have an awkward colorization, being perfectly pink.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Mike
