Bogart ate about an inch off the blade of a hockey stick once!!!

The things my rabbits, Stormy and Cassiel, have eaten that have scared me
the most are matchbooks and candles. Cassiel, it seems, will eat anything.
He begs like a dog whenever he thinks I'm eating something (he didn't learn
this from me, he pulled my plate of Chineses food down off the coffee table
one of the first nights after I adopted him) Hamburgers, chips, cookies,
ANYTHING, as long as we are eating it, he will try to pull out of our hands
mouths, or off our plates. Of course, we never let him eat any of this stuff
other than the odd small Dorito, or some bites of apple.

It seems all my rabbits have liked leather. I have a notch in my leather
belt, tooth marks in my leather motorcycle pants, and shortened laces on
my leather riding boots thanks to Hamlet. He also loved telephone wires.
I usually kept them out of the way, but sometimes I would use the
extension (temporarily) and it would fall down from where I hung it - chomp!

Honua loved salsa and ice cream. We never gave him any, but whenever we
were watching a movie, eating chips and salsa, he would stand up really
tall and reach over the coffee table and lick the salsa bowl (or ice cream
bowl) and sometimes knock it down.

Curtis loved Coca-Cola. He would stand up next to me on the couch and
reach up and pull down the can with his front feet and sneak a quick lick
before I could get it away from him. He would always shake his head really
fast a couple of times after getting a lick, too. Must have been the bubbles
bursting in his face (what a mess!)

our silver fox rabbit, peppercorn, loves vanilla pudding. it seems that her
muzzle is just the right size for the pudding cup :). One word of caution to
all...Never feed chocolate to a rabbit. Chocolate will give rabbits seizures,
even in s
mall amounts.

I am interested in your statement about feeding rabbits chocolate, as
here in the UK you can purchase packets of white chocolate drops called
'rabbit treats' (or something similar). I have feed my bunny these and
similar white chocolate drops daily for the last five years and have not
seen apparent problems. I would appreciate more information about the
seizures.

Our bunnie, Clover Rabbit, loves oatmeal. The old fashioned kind. Not
Quick Oats, but the kind you cook awhile. When we get a new box, she
sits on her hind legs and gently puts her paws on the top of the box
and nibbles out of it. We leave a dish on the floor with pellets, oatmeal
and water in our kitchen, where she spends most of her time. Oatmeal seems
to be her favorite treat and she eats probably a cup full a week.

There is no real chocolate in white "chocolate." White chocolate is
simply another product of the cacao bean. So I would assume it's okay.

Chocolate is upsetting to dogs, too, and can be deadly to them in large
amounts.

My rabbit ate alot of M&M's once when I left the bag open on the
table. He seemed to be ok. After that, he would come anytime I
shook a bag of M&M's and I started calling him "M&M&M&M&M" and
he would come to that from then on.

- Strings and Leather
- Popcorn
- Chips
-Cake
-Chocolate (she seems to like Kit-Kat)
-Eggs
-Bread
-Rice
- And the weirdest things was when we caught her eating a chicken bone.

Sweets can be deadly for rabbits--especially chocolate--though rabbits
do like them.

Please, please, please don't let your rabbit eat those things, including
bread, etc., or you may not have a rabbit much longer.

Best,

That certainly is a mystery why they eat odd things. I once caught Gideon
eating a cotton swab. Fortunately for him, I snatched it out of his furry
lips. He didn't suffer from it either, much to my relief. My current rabbit,
Deborah, ate an elastic. I'm glad nothing bad happened since she has a
delicate gut.

White chocolate isn't chocolate it's made from cocoa butter.

My bunnies also got into a bag of M&M's and now every time I shake or try to open a bag of them, they go nuts. They also go crazy over the sound of a grocery bag or the sound of this bag of kale I buy them. I have been giving them m&m's almost everyday for awhile now and haven't had any problems except that they beg for food now like a dog would. Lol If anyone has more info on bunnies eating chocolate I'd appreciate it.

Thank all of you for sharing. This makeses me feel a little less paranoid about what I have caught my Hotot, Rebel eating!

His plastic litter tub
Tags off my throw pillows
Fringe cotton string off scarves
Plumeria leaves off my tree ( which gives him sticky poop/ not good for white fur)
Charger cords
Popcorn
Half the sole of a Tennis shoe
Leather belt
Toilet bowl brush bristles (gross)

All giving me a half heart attack worrying about how his little body was going to get that out! So far he's happy healthy and alive! But all your comments make me feel better. Although I still won't let my guard down. They are so ornery. 🐇🐇🐇

Chocolate contains cocoa and cocoa contains the compound theobromine. Theobromine is toxic to dogs and other pets at certain doses. Chocolate poisoning is a problem that occurs mainly in dogs but also occurs occasionally in cats or other animals.

You would have to do research on the affect Theobromine has on rabbits!
