Hey. I've got a few questions for everyone. We just got a new kitten and
have introduced him to the bunny. At first they weren't all to pleased
with each other then the bunny got crazy and started eating the kittens
catnip (not sure, but i think it works the same on bunbuns as it does on
cats. drunk bunny). Is that ok? Will the catnip hurt him or anyhting?
Then the bunny started chasing the cat around the kitchen! He didn't
seem agressive, just like he was attempting to sniff the kitten. And
then the cat jumped onto the top of bunbuns cage and the rabbit ran
around and around the cage in circles about 20 times! Any ideas WHY he
did that? Was he approving or disapproving of the cat? The kitten is a
bit scared of him but gets a little brave and bats his tale sometiems
and bunbun doesn't seem to mind. I guess my main questions that all this
rambling is leading to is what can I do to help bunbun and kitty be
friends? or at least tolerate each other. I appreciate any responses :)

Jessica, Fadò(bunbun and Fizzgig(kitty!)

So how DOES one determine the difference between a drunk or
stoned bunny and a normal bunny? What was he doing different?

I believe the consensus on this ng is that catnip is not harmful and
also that it does not affect bunnies as it does cats.

As long as the kitten doesn't seem to be upset, I don't think I'd worry
about this situation.

Probably it's just that the rabbit hasn't figured out how to get on top
of the cage. My buns go nuts when I put their dishes on top of their
cage when I pour out their food -- they know what I'm doing but they
can't get at it.

They probably just need time. As long as nobody is getting hurt, I
wouldn't worry.

only thing different was that he was all over the place! and running up
to me and my husband like we're long lost family members. And last night
he got into some cat nip and shortly later he nipped my finger then
licked it! hes NEVER done that. Could just be bun changes i suppose :)
