One of my budgerigars has a tremor in both wings. This largely goes away
when I do something to gain its focus of attention. Any idea what this is?
I suppose the budgie is well into its middle years now and can occasionally
get a bit aggressive and bad tempered.

Problem over. The cause is lack of seed. I've been cutting down on its
access to seed to reduce its weight as it looked a bit rotund. In the past
it didn't fly at all well and tended to plummet out of the air instead. It
flies quite strongly now.
