My Syrian Hamster has 2 strange lumps!

My male Syrian hamster (called Horace) has 2 strange lumps just under his
bum. They are about the size of a peanut (1 slightly bigger than the other)
and lightly covered in fur. I thought they were his testicles but they look
too large!. They don't seem to cause any distress or problems but they look
out of place. They sometimes seem to dissappear however depending on his
posture.

Horace is my first Hamster and would appreciate any advice.?

Not to worry, they are testicles! I was shocked at first also by the way they
seem to appear and disappear :o)

Those indeed are his testicles! Some Syrian hamsters have rather large
ones!

You are looking at his testicles and you will find this to be quite normal.
The testicles of a male Syrian hamster will differ in size and shape due
to certain factors such as temperature levels. Sometimes they will become
visibly large and quite in your face and other times appear small and neat.
You're looking at a healthy well-endowed male hamster.

LOL! You'll give Horace a complex with comments like that. :-) As
others have said, hamsters do have disproportinally large testicles, and
I'm sure that's what you're seeing. One of my Syrians (Dougal) like to
sit on my shoulder, but I try not to look if he turns to walk down my
arm as I would just blush!

same pouches hanging from her bottom.....does this mean she is a "he"????
