Hello,

We are interested in acquiring a pet hamster and would prefer to go through
a breeder than a pet shop. Please email us at st...@redrosesforme.com if you
have any information about breeders in the northern NJ (Bergen/Hudson
county) or NYC area.

Thanks!

What is your motivation for going to a breeder rather than a pet shop? If
it is to show hamsters, then yes a breeder is probably the way to go. But
if you wish to avoid sponsoring the pet "industry", why not consider
adopting a hamster? Sadly, many people view them as "disposable" pets and
shelters usually have a few, if not other small animals.

I went to http://www.petfinder.org
and did a search for "small and furry" in New Jersey. (you know your zip
code so you could refine the search!) There's a hamster up for adoption at:
Monmouth County SPCA
Eatontown, NJ

Lakeland Animal Haven
Kenvil, NJ

Animal Welfare Association
Voorhees, NJ

Babies, young hamster, seniors!! All sorts of Hamsters wanting a home. Why
not check it out?
