Guido is a happy little man, if a bit lonely. He's a bit underweight again - 872g at weigh-in two days ago. He's enjoying getting to explore and run around a bit every so often. He's 4.5 years old now, so I guess that makes him an elderly boy.
He won't be alone for much longer, though; I put in my application at the SPCA today, to adopt a pair of 8mo brothers named Batman & Robin! They're teddies, a breed I haven't had before, and eadily twice the size if Guido. I pick them up tomorrow afternoon.
Obviously there will be a two-week quarantine to start. The Dynamic Duo is currently housed in two small pet store cages, in a room with a bunch of cats in cages. I have two large pet store cages to use for the quarantine and to house them until I have the Palace built, so that is not an issue.
I know how to introduce two guinea pigs to each other, and I intend to reintroduce the Duo since they've been living apart for several months (they were surrendered in December), but I would also like to see if maybe all three boys will be able to share the Palace once it's built.
Does anyone have any brilliant suggestions for how best to go about making this three-way introduction?
(If they can't get along during floor time, I'll just build the Palace to separate them such that they can chat through the bars but not be able to fight with each other. Part of the point here is to give Guido some company that is of his own species. It's been over a year since Isabella died, after all.)
So excited!

It's important that you quarantine and observe them for two weeks. You
don't want Guido to catch whatever they may have.

Very necessary; I brought them home on Sunday and all was well, then yesterday morning Robin presented with extreme lethargy and laboured breathing, and he wouldn't accept any food. I attempted syringe-feeding Critical Care. However, he did not last the day. He went peacefully, but I suspect he may have had a URI. I'm hoping to get a prescription for antibiotics so I can dose the other two, just in case. (He never came near Guido, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.)
It is also possible that he simply had an undisclosed heart condition, and the stress of moving was just too much for him.

Sorry I missed that and for your loss of Robin.
