I had a pair some time ago that settled down somewhat similarly. They were
agressive and very touchy when out together. Nothing like what you
describe, but I couldn't let them be unsupervised. They'd leave each other
alone for hours then break into battle like buzz saws suddenly and have to
be broken up. Then one day they they were breaking it up before I got to
them. Next day it seemed like they'd been litter mates. Playing like
normal well adjusted ferrets. Later, they climbed up on the couch next to
me and fell asleep wrapped around each other.

When I see this or read of it, it seems that they've very suddenly worked
out their differences, or established pecking order or something like that,
and it never really is an issue after that.

Good to hear they worked things out. Must be quite a relief.

That's such a cool story, Michelle! Glad they are finally getting along. I
know they have to fight for a bit at first just to establish who's in
charge. My two went through that too although not as violently as your's
did.
