COLBERT OFF TO THE RACES
================================
<
CHARLESTON, SC (Rueters) -- The write-in
candidacy of Stephen Colbert was way out in
front in today's South Carolina caucuses to
determine the Republican candidate to put
President Barack Obama out to pasture.
<
This was rather obvious just 15 minutes
after the polls opened, based on an Exit Poll.
<
Colbert, who actually is running under
the name Herman Cain, was miles ahead
of runner-up box "NONE OF THE ABOVE,"
while the third box checked -- "CLICK HERE
IF YOU'RE AN ILLEGAL ALIEN: -- was
a distant third.
<
Newt Gingrich, Milt Romney and Rick
Santorum were tied for dead last.
<
Colbert's victory reportedly was the result
of a last-minute Super Pac ad -- shown just
before midnight, then again this morning --
in which pictures of grouchy-looking Gingrich,
Romney and Santorum were shown walking
sad-looking canines on leashes, then a very
gruff-sounding commentator asking:
<
"DO YOU TRUST ANY OF THESE
CANDIDATES TO WALK YOUR DOG?"
<
"IF your answer is NO, then how would
you like to have him walking your NATION?"
<
This is a really nice picture of Fluffy,
who was featured in the ad.

<
One of the early voters was Ed Conrad
of Pennsylvania -- in town trying to peddle
his books -- who told Fox News that he
didn't vote for anybody "because the tip
of my pencil broke while I was in the booth."
<
Ed, during his 15 seconds of national
exposure, is asking everyone in South
Carolina to by his book, "GOOD GOD!
Boy, You Certainly Can Say THAT Again!"

Before he was cut off, The Ignorant Prick
also managed to slip another free plug
into the Fox News' basket:
