I wonder whether anyone in this newsgroup could recommend a good amateur or
artist that could draw or paint my Black Labrador (harriet). I`m not too
bothered whether it is a pencil drawing, pastel or oil painting.
I live in the UK and would love to hear from anyone that can help me.
Regards Simon.

Simon,

I've forwarded your post to a friend who is an excellent artist. I'll
let her contact you directly.

I forwarded your post to a friend a few minutes ago.

I don't pick art. It grabs me.

She has other works but when I saw a particular watercolor, I bought
it. And gave it my "El Hubbo" for Christmas.

Her name is Eliska.

I have often thought of soliciting the same talent for an odd project I had in
mind.

I envision a food bowl with equestrian-like scenes painted along the side. My
siamese cat would be painted jumping over a bush, bounding over an oxer into a
pool of water, and racing at full gait after my lab. Inside the bowl would be
my cat in a regal pose atop a victory stand surrounded by flower arrangements.

If anyone can help me (with the project, not my illness) please respond...

Hi Simon,

I noticed on eBay that someone is selling their services for custom labrador
portraits. It is Item #537157644 and the artist is C. Alan Jachinski. He is
in the U.S. but according to the auction, it looks like he will do
international orders as well. Check it out!

There is an artist who advertises in my vet's waiting room. There is a
painting next to a photo of the same dog, and it is IMPRESSIVE. So if you
are anywhere near Warwickshire, I could get more information for you. Just
ask.

Kaz,
Fantastic. What a wonderful painting! Now I'm going to feel even more lame
when my 3 year old asks me to draw a picture on her lunch bag every day! :(
