Methinks you should give them a break and tell them what they
are asking to know. Your nose might not be stuck up so high
should you ever arrive in their country and look for a friendly
soul to answer such "easy" questions.

SWM = Single White Male
SWF = Single White Female
SAM = Single Asian Male
SAF = Single Asian Female
SBM = Single Black Male
SBF = Single Black Female
SHM = Single Hispanic Male
SHF = Single Hispanic Female

D instead of S for first letter = Divorced
W instead of S for first letter = Widowed
G instead of first letter generally means gay (homosexual)
C stuck in there somewhere generally means Christian
B as first letter sometimes, but not always means bisexual
(BF can mean either Black Female or Bi-Female - you should
read the ad and the context should be clear).

LTR means Long Term Relationship

There's a _whole_ bunch more of these stupid abbreviations,
which used to make a lot more sense back when we were using
300 baud modems, or were being charged by the word for a
newspaper advertisement. Best of luck and welcome to the
group.

And a couple of footnotes to my own post:

M instead of S for first letter = Married

A lot of times, bisexual is spelled Bi - as in BiF meaning
Bisexual Female.

The letter P stuck in there somewhere usually means "Professional"
The letter C stuck in there somewhere usually means Christian _unless_
it's the last letter, in which case it means Couple. Examples
SBCF = Single Black Christian Female
MWC = Married White Couple.
Likewise, the letter J stuck in there somewhere usually means Jewish

Don't you mean "yeah"? Why is this humorous? Most Americans would go to
Europe not knowing what W.C. is.. Most Americans could not tell you were
Belgium is. Most Americans think Austria has roos. You say, "so what?"
That is my point. Does it matter that someone from another country
doesn't know what "DWBPF" is?

Michael,
First off, I did not write the "yea" so don't imply that I do not know
how to spell. If you knew how to read a thread, you would have noticed
the "yea" was someone who agreed with my comment.

Next, The comment was obviously a joke. Don't you get it??

OK, I have never seen it... I just put the letters together to make what
I thought was "Divorced White Bi Protestant Female"

We just need to be a little more understanding of people from different
parts of the world.

Really? [eyes wide open] just a 'little' ... all I know is that we're
all here and spread out all over this planet and can now write to
anyone in the whole world if he/she has an email address that
receives our message

from the halls of Montezuma
to the shores of Tripoli

Amazingly fast ... WOW ... Glorious
