My name is R, I am both a masochistic submissive (to men), and also a sadistic
dominant (with women). I am basically posting this as I feel I need some urgent
help, or someone to talk to, or maybe something more serious. I am a 36 year
old (female) barrister, specialising in defence work, often in 'sex cases.' I
have a very serious problem in separating my professional and private lives.
Well, frankly, I find it impossible. I am a compulsive submissive, and feel an
habitual attraction to (some of) my clients. I will not to go into details at
this stage, but I have been 'involved' with several at various stages of the
legal process. Sometimes I find it almost unbearable not to be, and find myself
behaving like a 'groupie' to these men (and/or their friends or family). I am
like a moth to a flame, and the degree to which I am compelled disturbs me at
times. I would like to talk about this via email and/or phone, and maybe take
things further. This is a genuine post, and would be grateful for genuine
replies only.

I have a friend who had a similar situation . My friend is female and just
coudn't help herself. She has one dom she sees quite often. I suggested that
she call him before going to work and have him give instructions for her to
follow, per day or week. Being her dom, she did follow the instructions. She
says at times it was most difficult not to give in to her natural needs, but
fear of her doms punishment made it possible.

Greetings R, It sounds like you are serious about your situation and
since I do live in the real world I would like to give you a serious reply.
It seems to me that you need an outlet for or control over for your
impulses, much as you suggest. As I see it you can go one of three ways.
#1 You can ignore the situation. This really isn't a viable approach it
seems. If it were you would not be making your posting. I think that would
result in the situation festering until you "blow your cap" so to speak.
#2 You can seek counseling. Being in the profession you are in, I expect
you have some information about the kinds of groups available for battered
women and such. I am willing to bet there is some kind of group/agency for
professionals like yourself who need a bit of help coping with what you see
day to day. This does not necessarily have to be an expensive approach.
This could help you with coping skills.
#3 You can proceed as you have already suggested, by developing one or more
contacts. These contacts can be in person or via internet, both have
advantages and disadvantages. Contrary to popular belief, I do believe that
submission & domination is possible via the internet. A webcam or digital
camera helps but is not required. Domination and submission is after all, a
thing of the mind (ok maybe 80% mental, 20% physical).
I would be glad to discuss all of this further with you. You have given us
some information about yourself so I will do the same so you have some idea
of who I am. I am a single 36 year old man who works in the financial
industry. As my web address (serious...@att.net) suggests, I have an
interest in both aspects of D/s & BDSM. My primary leanings are dominant.
