Hi...

Here's a maths puzzle for you all...

There is a bus with 7 schoolgirls inside,
Each schoolgirl has 7 bags,
Inside each bag, there are 7 Big cats,
Each Big cat has 7 small cats,
All cats have 4 Legs each!
Question: How many Legs are there inside the bus?

I'll post the answer in a few days when you've all had chance to work this
one out..

Best wishes

Mike

Barring trickery in the question, I get 9618.

Hmmmmmmm, I get

7G * 7B * ((7BC * 4L) + (7BC * 7SC * 4L)) + (7G * 2L)
49* (28 + 196) + 14

= 10990

I was looking around for other "sets of legs", but
found none but those mentioned.

Actually there is no driver mentioned in this problem so one is to
persume that the bus is stationary and there are just 7 girls on the
bus. Maybe the driver hasn't arrived yet (lol)

I get 10990 - like the others posts.
But I sense a big groan coming
when you tell us the answer.

Well done to Jim and John who both got the correct answer..

The way to work it out is:

7 Girls = 14 Legs 7*7 = 49 Bags
49*7 = 343 Big Cats (343*4) = 1372 Legs
343*7 = 2401 small cats (2401*4) = 9604 Legs

9604
1372
+ 14
-------------
Total: 10990 Legs
-------------

All I got to say is, it must have been a helluva big bus. And I'm glad I'm
not the one who had to clean it after the cats left! LOL

I know this is an old post, but it reminded me of this question

The farmer and his dog are in a field with 10 cows, 2 goats, 40 sheep
and a bull.
How many feet are there in the field

Mike62

This could depend if the size of the field is measured in feet.

However the obvious answer I worked out was:

Farmer = 2 feet
Dog = 4 feet
Cows 10x4 = 40 feet
Goats 2x4 = 8 feet
Sheep 40x4 = 160 feet
Bull = 4 feet
**********************************

TOTAL NO OF FEET = 220

*********************************
The other thing is bulls and cows have hoofs, and sheep have split
hooves which can help them climb rocky hills. Goats have hooves too so
when you take this into consideration, the total number of feet would
be 6.

Best wishes

Actually I added that up wrong. Instead of 220 the total number of
feet should be 218..

2, unless the farmer has a wooden leg.

Dogs have paws, not feet. You were on the right track, though. The correct
answer should be 2. The farmer is the only one with feet.

was thinking 2, but didn't consider farmer being an amputee :)

Good try, but you did seem to know answer!
Except dogs have paws.
