For the one or two that does not know - the movie is about the issue of
abortion.
A very private matter, and a matter very close to me.
How can a church, religion or a government body prescribe how a woman
should
decide about this?
How can a authority force medical staff to perform this operation if it
goes
against their gut feeling?

Speaking for myself - I don't know if it was cowardice, or just the gut
feeling knowing that my child would grow up in a loving family and that
he
would find me - that I did not go that path. I know for sure my decision
was
not because it was the "the right thing to do".

My heart goes out to those women who did have an abortion, and to those
people who perform the operations under sterile and proper medical
conditions.

My son was adopted almost 20 years ago, at age seven. I bless and thank
his biological mother for having the strength to do so.

I agree with you about the women who make a choice. Here in the states
we have the Right to Life movement, which at its ultimate extreme
(again, others making choices for women) believes in bombing clinics to
maim the health care workers and under cover of darkness assassinating
the doctors. I remember when young women used coat hangars, soda
bottles, or whatever they could get their hands on to self-abort, or
going to back-alley abortionists in Mexico. I would sure hate to loose
ground and deny the young women of today the choices they now have.

Yes, I'm going to see that one. It was on my "see" list but got confused
with some that I also saw at the time.

Tuesday is "cheap movie night".

Several I saw during last winter: Snow falling on cedars, Magnolia, End
of an affair, and a long film, its name escapes me at the moment, about an
family history in Hungary between 1890 or so to the mid 50's. Very
good......but long, 3 hours.

I too, remember way back when....my thoughts....let it stay legal.

Many of you know I drive a cab, and we have two abortion clinic (women's
clinics-for a better name) and when I have to drive in or out of these
places...is almost as nerve racking , down right scary sometimes due to
those "people" standing outside the place ready to "PONCE" ....I have had
several to open the car door on my passenger, dragged out and "lectured to"
....right there in the driveway....
Just erks me to no end....and yes, have had to call the local police several
times (thank goodness for cell phones)

Just my 2cents....
