No, I mistrust man-made high up places. Gimme a tree or mountain anytime!
But I'd go up in the shuttle in a heartbeat!

Does the top of observation towers count?

When I was in America during 1984/5, I went up to the top observation
floor of the Empire State Building, and I also had lunch in the
restaurant near the top of one of the World Trade Centre towers.

The highest I can think of was the St.Michaelis Church steple in
Hamburg - I loved the sight of the harbour from up there. But it's not
very high... My daughter was on Sears Tower in Chicago, and she keeps
telling me it's the highest building in the whole wide world :))

The top of the CN Tower, in Toronto, and the top of the Calgary Tower.
I love being up high.
Anyone ever been to the Eiffel Tower in Paris?
Lori
Certainly.
When you live in Toronto, it's almost obligatory to go to the top of
the CN Tower (tallest free standing structure in the world, although
it's not exactly a "building"). It's a good spot to take visitors on a
clear day, when you can see across the lake to Niagara Falls.

That certainly is some view. Have you been up Black Mountain Tower in
Canberra? Physically you don't travel all that far up but it is
accentuated by the tower being on a mountain range. An awesome view at
night. Can get cold and windy though. ;-0

Yes, I did that one as well - and you are right - it is a stupendous
view. My view was in the afternoon, not at night. There was snow on
the peaks on the other side of Canberra.

..yes!!...in 1965....Paris was one of those places that - if you were
dropped into the middle of it blindfolded, and didnt know where you had
been dropped - when you opened your eyes, you would know it was Paris...
murphy
>Have you ever been to the top floor of a skyscraper or other tall structure?
A few times. I don't particularly like heights, so it's not something
that I would do on a regular basis unless I had to.

Does other tall structures include mountains? If so, Helvellyn and Cat Bells
in the Lake District, and Sulphur Mountain and Whistlers Mountain in the
rockies, Ok we cheated with those 2 and took the cable car :-)
Next week we may tackle Ben Nevis, sshh Ann doesn't know that yet :-) and
the week after so more high spots in the Lake Distrct

That's one of the things I miss about not driving coaches anymore. I
used to get paid to go to places like that. :-)) Used to love the
trips to the Whitsundays.

My daughter spent a year at Airlie Beach - working at "Sumthin' Fishy"
on Shute Harbour Rd. She loved it.
Me too. I've been to the Toronto and Calgary towers. Also Skylon at
Niagara falls.
Still got to do Eiffel tho.

How come you didn't go to see it?

Because I was at the bistro beside the hotel--working on my Hemingwayan novel
