Paisley!
HEre's the story: in the 70's, I had a favourite patterned shirt
that was a deep blue-purple. SOmebody told me it was "Paisley".
For a long time, I thought that referred to the _colour_! <G>

Those five words are so evocative.

On most days yellow, ...happy, bright, cheerful, positive. On certain
days red, ....an "in your face" sort of colour, assertive, ready to
fight for something I believe in. I always feel I'm a primary colour
though, no wishy-washy pastels for me!
Angela.
What can I say? I'm a Spring type person! <g>
Hi, Duchess!! Stick around and post some. These are nice folks.
Everybody, this is Suzanne. She is a nice lady from W.Virginia. And she
likes chocolate, too. <g>
Yes, Suzanne, the storms can be awesome. We have been having nice
springtype weather for about two weeks but it will change this week.
Starting with a bad hail storm today and getting really cold again this
weekend. Bummer. I had some outside work to do this weekend. :-(
Oh, well, if work was fun, everybody would want to do it. <g>

Baby buffalo are orange when they are born and it is to hide them from coyotes,
because the predators are color blind and thus unable to spot the babes in the
tall grass....ain't Ma Nature grand?
So John, you will be safe from the coyotes in your orange apparel. Errrrrrr,
John, you don't really resemble a buffalo do you?.

Okay, now - if the predators are _colour_ blind, why does the _colour_
of the baby buffalo _matter_! ?....<G>
Now, they still see in shades of gray, and it would be advantageous for
the babies to be the same shade of gray ( and pattern if possible) as
their surroundings...
and thus unable to spot the babes in the

So now you are saying it is the _tall_ grass_ that is hiding them! <G>

I enjoy the wishy- washy pastels. They remind me of Spring and Easter
colors. My favorite is pink. My poor husband has to share a pink bedroom
with me. Pink reminds me of being a "lady" for some reason. Maybe cuz most
times I am not. LOL!!! That was a joke, folks. I really and truly can act
like a lady. :)

Ed, isn't black the ABSENCE of all colour! <G>
(Or am I misunderstanding ...?)
It's black at night because there is no light....
White is composed of all colours...

Ummm...how about pink?? That sounds innocent enough eh?
There is no innocent color on the
face of this earth that could discribe
Karen because she just isn't that innocent

My bedroom was already nicely decorated in peach and cream when I moved
into this house Cathy, so I really had no excuse to change it, but I did
Neil's in yellow!
Angela.
Was that pastel yellow Angela? The peaches and cream sounds wonderful. It
too sounds very ladylike. I wonder what colors have to say about us? Some
people enjoy the bold bright colors while some of us enjoy the more reserved
lighter colors.

Colour is tricky - what you are talking about is _additive_ colour, I
think, and point taken, but...
... when we physically SEE the black that is printed out, it is because
the ink is absorbing all the light waves, and reflecting no light to our
eyes, so our _eyes_ are receiving no colours...
Or think of your computer monitor, which works by _emitting_ light, not
reflecting it. When you see black, it is because the red, green, and blue
electron beams are not illuminating the respective coloured phosphors.
If you DO combine red, green, and blue, at the right leves, you WILL get
white light emitted, which your eye will see! <G>
Dan
> Cathy:)
No, bright sunshine yellow of course! Mind you, I did choose a cream
three piece when I started buying my "new life" furniture, so I guess I
do have my occasional pastel moments! <G>
Now then, thinking of what colours say about us:
I have mainly had red cars, but this time chose a black car but still
with bright red seats; I re-painted my front door a really shiny black
gloss with brass handles and stuff; my kitchen is bright yellow with the
odd tasteful bright blue and green tulip every now and again in a
ceiling border and all white cupboards and appliances; my living room
and dining room are cream and turquoise with dark oak furniture (hey I
am English after all you know! <G>), my bedroom is peach and cream with
antique pine wood furniture; Neil's room is bright yellow with pale pine
furniture; my study is pink with black furniture (but only because I
haven't decorated it yet and the last owner had it pink!); both
bathrooms are peach and white; my fingernails are red (at the moment)
and I prefer green eye shadow! Oh and absolutely nothing in my house,
wardrobe or life is **ever** pastel blue ....yuk! So,...Any psycho-
analysts in the house? <G>
