My only injury is a busted right thumb. they are going to operate on
friday.
Peeve: left handed typing.
For those of you looking for an excuse to quoff some ale,
there will be a fuckin' A at the Duke of Edinbourgh pub on
Wolfe rd in cupertino(?) wednesday july 28th, 7 ish.
for those of you not familiar with the custom, when someone
"creatively dismounts" from his motorcycle, he gets together
with his friends, they lift their glasses and make the ritual
toast: "fuckin' A".
Peeve: my bike is my only reliable transportation, and it is
hard to ride with a busted thumb. Hopefully my van will last
long enough for me to heal sufficiently.

Better than waking up under the ambulance.
=> I have some dim memories of traffic
=> coming to a stop and grabbing a whole handfull of brake. I was rather
=> disoriented when I woke up in the back of an amby. Now I know why they ask

What date *was* it?
=> I guess that info is in short term memory,
=> I felt like someone shorted out all of the address and data lines of
=> mine.
No, what you felt was someone applying power to your address and data
lines. Your normal M.O. is all shorted out.
=> !Peeve, the bike was barely damaged, a friend rode it home from
=> san jose yesterday.
I heard that it had been stuck in 5th gear. Now, where on route 9 can
you get into 5th?

I once woke up draped over the back of a chair. I had obviously arrived at
that position with considrable velocity, because the edge of the back support
had gashed my chest through the shirt I was wearing. When I woke up, I had to
peel my shirt off my chest and the chair, as the blood had clotted and glued
the three of us together.
RelatedPeeve: Nikov. El-cheapo Vodka and Orange (and 5% passionfruit) mix that
I had consumed copious quantities of in the preceeding hours.
!Peeve: That I didn't spend the night on the bathroom floor, with my arms
wrapped around the toilet saying "God this is comfortable", like my friend

!Peeve: That I didn't suffer the fate of Stewart: remembering throwing up,
but not remembering where, and then finding it a few days later behind your
bed.
Peeve: Being accused of throwing up on the dog, when we all knew full well it
was Stewart, as the dog was vomited on from behind.

For my 18th birthday, Oh GOD!!! It was so long ago now.... :-( We ended up
drunk in a nightclub, now defunct, and I, in the tradition of 18 year olds
everywhere, spewed into the sink in the gents, this is because someone had
been kind enough to leave a great deal of shit in the lav making me unable
to deposit my stomach contents in the comfort required. So, said spew sat
before me in the sink. Staring back at me. Full of spag bol. Oh dear.
Being a kind hearted person I felt I could not leave the sink in this
condition so in went the hand to clear the plughole and get the sink empty.
I didn't get off with anyone that night.........
Then there was this party where I got so wrecked I woke up the next morning
in a pool of piss, having slept on a torn mattress so I was covered in
feathers which didn't match my black clothes particularly well and facing a
two mile walk home.
Why do we do it??????

Everyone does this. The only !peeve in it is that when you feel drunk
and you've just upchucked, poking the big bits down the plughole doesn't
seem nearly as disgusting as if you had to do it wide awake sober.
Drink does strange things to the synapses though. A friend of mine, on
his eighteenth, went for a meal, got pissed, and got back to the halls
to upchuck. Halls of residence being what they are, I could hear most
of the performance. Then comes a knock on my door. I open it, Craig is
standing there swaying and beaming beatifically down at something
clutched in his fingers. He holds it up and exclaims, with the sort of
pride most people reserve for their firstborn child: "Look, an
undigested mushroom!"

The problem I seem to find these days is that my alcohol tolerance is
too high for me to vom up my lager when pissed. Maybe I have inherited
a traditional Scots attitude since I appeared in this august city (i.e.
Never Waste Expensive Lager).
Unfortunately, this tolerance does not extend to Hangover Tolerance. In
fact I think my Hangover Tolerance Level has dropped dramatically over
the last few years. The upshot of this is that
a. If I'm going to puke it's when I already feel like a herd of
incontinent elephants has trampled across my mouth and deposited the
contents of its collective colon into my churning stomach and
b. Clearing up afterwards is more than severely unpleasant and
suspiciously likely to result in a similar occurrence.

I am guessing because you were waiting for that one party where you woke
up with a horrible hangover and with a used condom hanging outta your
arsehole?

Actually htat was on 85, though there are several places on
9 where you can, you don't necesarily want to, 5th and 6th gears
are over the top of the power curve, max speed is attained in 4th.
My little injury has brough up all sorts of peeves. Like the way
that althou my insurance will pay X for Preffered Providers it will
only pay Y for non-PPo's. Combined with the fact that nobody
involved in the medical industry has any idea of what anything costs..
well kids let me tell you a story.
VAlley med (where I was taked after my oops) was all ready to
operate on my hand last friday, I call up Aetna to make sure that
I'm covered. Only 80%, bu t nobody can tell me 80% of wwhat.
I try to talk to the doctor, but people just say to show up for my
appt. that afternoon.
AFter waiting around for 2 hours, I finaly see the Doc. Get shuffled
off to a Preferred Provider. Show upat his office (on the other side
of ASn Jose) and 1st thing, have to fill out 4 pages of forms,
with a busted right hand.
I finally get scheduled for an appt. to get my hand operated on
(Rolando's fracture, a shattered 1st metacarpal in my thumb),
and it isn't till next friday. And noonce can still stell me how
muc I'm going to save 10-20% of for having a shattered bone
for a week.

I once came to underneath my pickup truck parked in my front yard. We
had had a party at the house the previous night and I got into a
drinking contest which I apparently won. I have no memory other then
looking for a place to throw up. I do remember waking up in the middle
of the night from getting rained on, I crawled someplace dry next to a
dog and went back to sleep.
When I woke up I was on my back looking up at metal beams and pipes
wondering where the hell I was. I looked to the right, saw a tire
and realized I was under my truck.
When I staggered into the house my roomates asked me where I had been,
they had been looking for me but gave up thinking I had gone off with
some girl.
