Hi,

I've just spent a few weeks visiting Zimbabwe, and I think I know
how N. Korea works.

For a boss-man who's 80, it's a failproof method of holding
power and luxury living by just printing money and paying your
supporters: government officials; police, army, teachers ...etc.

The doubling of prices every 3 months nicely and legally
transfers resources from those who had savings/wealth
to you supporters.

On 11 April 2006 a loaf of bread was Z$44'000-.
A week later it was Z$85'000-.
In 1980 [date of 'independance'] a Z$ was worth MORE
than a US$.

Last week chinese bicycles with gear-change front & back
and sprung front forks and and single spiral-sprung swinging
rear fork cost only Z$11M; which is only US$60 - free market
valuation.

Some one said they are junk quality and only last a while.
But since China must have been manufaturing millions
of bicycles per month for decades, their local users would
not have tolerated junk, nor would the party have allowed it.

Has anybody got any experience to report on these machines ?

== Chris Glur.
