Actually the world ended in 1983, just as I predicted.
The catastrophic events which will inevitably follow always have a
probability of happening p = 0.5 on any date later than 1983. Due to
the principle of seriality the probability does not increase with
passing time. This is deeply counter-intuitive but easy to put to the
test. Just go to any casino, bet 1 unit of currency on black; if you
lose double your bet and so on until you are broke. The reason this
system, which seems sound to normal thinking, doesn't work is that the
odds don't change. Thus it's not possible to predict the future with
any certainty.
