Sure, why not? Sounds fun. But you won't get "a lot of people" just
through alt.paranormal, so I'm passing this on to some other relevant
groups. I assume you'll be there to see what does happen, or know someone
who will?
Just for reference, 12 noon EST is 5pm Greenwich Mean Time/"Universal Time".

My e-mail address is zen177395 at zendotcodotuk.
I don't check that account very often, so tell me on the newsgroup if you've
sent me an e-mail.
Come on, anyone want a go?
Why not? Please remind me the day before. For me, this would be at
10am, so not an awkward time at all. Will someone be ready to
photograph the skies over DC, whether there's anything of interest or
not?

Count me in. I'm in Mountain Standard time.

OK, just a reminder: 1st March, 12 noon EST/5pm GMT/10am MST/10am whatever
time zone BruceS is in. At least I think that's right.
Incidentally, BruceS, does that mean you're not in Australia after all? I
always thought you were. And mII, care to explain why you use
uk.rec.psychic if you're American? Just puzzled. It's got little enough
going for it!
Right, I'm in Colorado, U.S, so MST. I've never even been to
Australia, though I'd like to one day. In fact, the only truly
foreign country I've been to is Ireland. I've been to Heathrow, but
since I didn't leave the airport I can't say I've been to the U.K.
I've also been to Canada many times, but that's a wholly owned
subsidiary, so it doesn't count as "foreign".

Canadian, actually. Calgary, Alberta. Mountain time seems to extend past
the borders of the Babylon to the south of us.

Hey, I've been to your town! It was a dismal trip, but that was
because of the shop I was visiting, not the city. The revolving
restaurant was OK, though tall buildings ruined some of the view.
Almost all of my time in Canada has been in the East (mostly Ontario),
but I had that one business trip to Calgary. We do use Mountain time
here in the Denver area, though we abuse it with that Daylight Savings
mess that's causing global warming, and that some monkey in Washington
decided to change the timing on instead of eliminating.

I should have known we were looking in the wrong direction for the
answer to global warming. Your suggestion makes perfect sense. More
light, due to saving, more heat. It's so clear now.
That also explains why days are shorter in the winter. The cold
contracts them.

I saw this on failbook, where (apparently) some of the poster's
friends tried to argue against it. Morons.

LOL. Thanks, I hadn't heard that one before. I'll add it to my
repertoire. Also, winter is when we're closest to the sun, so the
increased effect of the solar wind blowing on us could be a
contributing factor to the cold of winter.
Oddly enough, following the theories of AGW, Daylight Savings could be
helping to *reduce* it. Probably not by any measurable amount, but at
least a *little*. Whether or no, I say get rid of it. That may need
to be done state by state, or province by province.
OK, I just realized that *yet again*, I've managed to accidentally
post something more coherent than a lot of the theories found on these
groups.
