þ First of all, you crossposted to alt.magick. That's a PAGAN forum. Not
þ only do we not believe in your God but we don't appreciate it shoved in
þ our faces like that. You have your forums, we have ours. You are not
þ going to change our minds by crossposting your love of a God we don't
þ believe in. Some folk here don't believe in any kind of divine force.
þ Others believe in many gods and goddesses too. Don't force your religion
þ on us. Many of us were Christians once and left it for better things,
þ namely because of folk like you trying to shove morals we didn't believe
þ down our throats.
þ God loves me? How can he? We've never met and I don't know him.

"Go out among God's children and teach," was an afterthough. Not strictly
speaking, but Jesus treated it as such. He didn't even start mentioning
teaching until after his crucifiction. He directed them to teach his word,
not make everyone a cultist. In any case, the definition of "disciple," is
not "someone who worships me," it is simply "student."

Absolutely. Any philosophy distorted from the Christian philosophy that
espouses intolerance is misguided.

For you to attribute this quote to Jesus Christ shows a lack of in depth
study. Jesus never said this. This could easily be distorted, since so many
people don't love themselves. What Jesus said, was "love each other as I have
loved you." No mistakes here. Jesus died a horrible death out of his love for
us. Seldom are we called to do the same, and most of us wouldn't measure up if
it came down to it.

> pretty sure that for those who truly believe, one of those should not

I disagree. I still say a person of marginal or no faith who lives a life
of love and compassion is more precious to God, because they did it out of
their compassionate nature rather than out of the fear of Hellfire.
