I once had the fortune to become acquainted with a man who was
the highest-ranking military chaplain the U.S. has ever had, Dr.
Scharlemann (a descendant of Charlemagne, on the German end of the
family). He was a very firm and dedicated Christian, and quite the
warrior type. He played D&D, participating annually in a group which
always finished off the school year with an all-out battle for
supremacy. He had a nasty habit of winning... maybe everyone was just
awed at his general's uniform with its medals, which he always wore for
the finale sessions.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with D&D... it gives others an "escape"
from the "Real world" it gives others a chance to experiance things that
if we were within our own domain... we could not... As for myself...I
have only had a few years experiance with D&D..although.. I believe that
I can stabalize Real life.. from fictional... I enjoy to have a "way out"
an "escape" if you will.. We are not "Satanists" we are just people who
wish to learn even the lessons that can not be tought though the
directions we have chosen.. We can take a "Character" and work with it..
we can experiance things..that we could not otherwise experiance through
day to day life....

It seems to me that by attributing your ability to understand the world
around you to revelations from goD (or is it gOd, I keep forgetting)
undercuts your own intellectual abilities (or maybe it doesn't, I don't
know you that well). And consider this: if you believe that God is

That's all I have to say about that.

Trojan horses? Ok, so by that you mean the NRA wants people to kill each other
with firearms in a holy crusade because they are for the ownership of firearms.

The only thing pop music does is entertain. The violence and problems in schools
is primarily the parents lack of fostering a healthy environment, as well as the
parents not taking responsibility for their own actions (as well as their child's).
Once you start making people responsible (ie - if your child damages property and
he/she can't make restitution for it, make the parents pay... ) you'll see some
major changes.

Music is just a scapegoat. The entertainment industry is a scapegoat, as well as
a way to attack Blacks, Jews, homosexuals and any other "minority" that so often
gets into such industries.

>> God reveals stuff to me all the time, through my thoughts,

Yes, I see him too. He sits in my closet revealing himself to me. Sometimes he
lets himself hang out and flagellates in my direction.

Well.. Let me ask you this... Havent you ever had fantasies? Havent you
ever wished you were somewhere else? With someone else? Doing something..
else? Come now... If you accually deny that you dont...then you would be
lying.. You can imagine the "perfect wedding day" or.. the "perfect
birth" ect ect... It can be very real to you in your mind.. and you can
"imagine" those things.. sometimes very clearly...Now.. most people use
them as an escape.. "Daydreaming"... Everyone does it, Pagans, Christians,
Lutherans, and the like... Everyone uses an escape.. Why should we be
thought differently because of our "playing D&D" and why would it be
classified as "satanism" ? Why is it that you may create your "fantasys"..
and allow that to be "normal" and not classify "that..as satanism"? It
is fictious... Just as D&D is.. Why is it that just because we have
formed a "game" out of our fantasies... that that would be concidered as
satanists? Come now... perhaps you may answer those questions that "I"
posed... and see your points dwindle down to nothingness...

Role-playing (a most widely accepted form of interaction) is designed to
work out what one would do in a hypothetical situation. This could be
as
simple as forcasting and working through how you are going to ask your
boss
for a raise, through building an elaborate world and working out the
problems within it. If you have problems with hypothetical situations,
you
have failed in G-d's command, for you are not capable of even making the
choice between the valley of life or death. If you have trouble
imagining
how things might be or might have been, you will never understand the
Word,
for the Word was written, and you have to use that same imagination to
understand the Word.

Now go away, and try and learn what it means to be human. For us humans,

understand hypotheticals, we can learn from reading, and sometimes, we
can
even enjoy ourselves without trying to hurt others.

I have to ask WHY this discussion is even going on. There have
been more crazy Chess Grandmasters than there have ever been crazy D&D
players (Definitely per capita, Probably in absolute terms as well).
Emmanuel Lasker was pretty Stable, Kasporov is pretty Stable. I defy
anyone to name two other stable world champion chess players since the
year 1900. And yet people will Persist in worrying about D&D?
My two cents, don't bother following this up, I'm Killfiling this
thread (Apologies - <G>)

The only thing that I can see wrong with D&D and other roleplaying
games is when certain people take it all a little too seriously, or
they get sorta addicted to it. When roleplaying becomes the center of
your exsistence that's when you have a problem.

"D&D" stands for "Dungeons & Dragons." It is a fantasy/role playing game,
often critized as being "Satanic" in makeup. Also often criticized as being
the "cause" behind teenage suicide. A popular game, especially amongst
teenage males. Actually, I sat in on a few "D&D" sessions while in
school...I'm still alive, I don't have any chickens sitting here waiting for
their throats to be cut, and I work at a police department [I don't eat

Point 1. This is the first time in about a month I've even fucked
with the newsgroups so I dobt I've been spamming.

Point 2. It's been about three months since I've been to
alt.christnet, alt.magick, or alt.satinism, or alt.pagan. I've never
been two alt.rock-n-roll.metal.death or rec.music.christian.

Point 3. I've only posted about five or six things and they all were
to on one or two groups.

So I don't think I've been doing any spamming lately.
Fuckface.

AD&D is a fantasy Role-Playing Game set in the medieval times.
The only people who would commit suicide after playing it are
sad bastards who were going to commit suicide anyway.

AD&D is wholly un-satanic, and not even slightly disturbing.

Roleplaying is like acting. So if D&D is Satanic, then so is
television.

PS ok, I know my nickname, Dispater, might make it appear satanic,
because I got it from D&D, but that is exactly like giving yourself
a nickname of a famous character out of a film.

Ok, AD&D has references to hell, Undead, etc. But take a look at
an everyday action movie, and you will see a lot of evil, death
destruction, etc.
No one accuses them of causing suicide!

If anyone has any counter-arguments, I'd love to hear it.

Only in certain gaming groups (usually sub-classed as 'the weird ones'

: AD&D is a fantasy Role-Playing Game set in the medieval times.

: The only people who would commit suicide after playing it are
: sad bastards who were going to commit suicide anyway.

: AD&D is wholly un-satanic, and not even slightly disturbing.

: Roleplaying is like acting. So if D&D is Satanic, then so is
: television.

: PS ok, I know my nickname, Dispater, might make it appear satanic,

: because I got it from D&D, but that is exactly like giving yourself
: a nickname of a famous character out of a film.

: Ok, AD&D has references to hell, Undead, etc. But take a look at
: an everyday action movie, and you will see a lot of evil, death
: destruction, etc.

: No one accuses them of causing suicide!

: If anyone has any counter-arguments, I'd love to hear it.

: Yes but only if their union allows it. Sometime overtime is involved.

Perhaps I should take up playing the game, if that's the case.

err, actually I was joking. I can't name any because I don't know any
because I don't know any such people.

I think you've just got your ears wound on too tight.

What's wrong with D&D?

Absolutely nothing.
Dungeons & Dragons is just one of the many things blamed for teenage suicide. A long with Heavy Metal, D&D has suffered at the hands of uptight, over barring parents who need something to blame their sons or daughters rebelion on.

'till later,

I heard that they have removed all references to demons from the
second edition AD&D to combat the frothing from the Religious Right,
but I don't know if that's true.

No, only the rock stars. :)
