fine with me. I do belong to another OBE group and it is much

This group was hot several years ago - even to the point of organizing group
meetings (astrally) at the pyramids of Giza and other noteable locations.
We had a website set up and all kinds of stuff. Shortly thereafter, a bunch
of skeptics came in and ruined it for a while. One of the biggest blows to
the group was the tragic death of a very popular poster named "Gunnar".
That was quite sad and it seemed to destabilize the group in the midst of
the onslaught of skeptics.
This caused many regulars to drop out. Without anything to feed on, the
skeptics also left. The group evaporated.
I suppose there is the possibility of recovery. I left a long time ago. I
just now came in to see what was going on. I'm not quite focused on this
situation right now because my lifestyle has changed dramatically. But I
still have an interest which may lead me back to the practice.
Now that the group is practically barren - perhaps we could start again.
The thing is, I think we need to have an updated website with a faq that
would give instructions on how to achieve this state of consciousness and
what to expect when it is unfolding.

I would like to see the group recover.
I think that I recall your name as one of the accomplished OBE'ers from
when I was lurking? My OBE experiences were all when I was a younger
teen. I'm thinking about trying again in earnest, which is why I thought
about checking the group out. I wasn't really ready to do OBE again at
the time that I originally discovered the group, but I did enjoy the
discussion.

There are lots of web-sites which give instructions on how to achieve
OBE's - the problem is that the methods they describe don't work for
everyone, or reliably for anyone.
If you could devise a method that overcame these faults, you'd probably
spark a lot of interest.

Whoo.... whole lot of changes since those days...Remarried - Redivorced.
Got smashed with two tree from Hurricane Charlie and decided to stop working
for a lying/mind control boss so I got fired a week after the storm while I
was still without electricity. Went into temporary retirement for 3 years
after selling my house and have been living off-grid (as an experiment) in

I started drinking more beer, lost a lot of creativity, and my interests
turned away from OBE to research UFOs - a subject I use to care very little
about but now have a great deal of interest in. Since UFOs and OBEs have
some relationship, I decided to pop back in here to see what was going on.
Nice to see some of the previous people come back occasionally. I hope you
and all others are doing well.

of stuff that happens at times. I have been in a major drought with OOBEs
since about the time of the last glory days with the meetings at the
pyramids. Life goes on though. I agree that UFOs are somewhat related to
the OOBE- although I am not sure how at this point.
Here, we have a 2,000 watt solar array, that pays for all but about $30 of
our power a year. We should have gone for 2 more panels, and we may have
been able to break even. Have you ever checked out the Yahoo group
"alternatepower"? There are guys out there who would love to hear about
your set up.

I've seen some studies done on that. I should do some more research on the
subject.

This is a follow-up. I read a number of articles about TMS. I have not
reached a final conclusion on the matter, however, it does support some
theories I've had.
I consider the five senses... These permit us to observe reality in at
least 7 dimensions - the awareness of time is yet another dimension we can
perceive. We can also describe sexual, emotional, mental, and spiritual
situations as "dimensions".
I feel Michael Persinger is on to something. That would be the stimulation
of the organ of perception and action - the brain. This helps us realize
other dimensions. While it may be true that an unfocused experience can be
described as hallucination - with more focus, a person can get information
about reality that is not readily available to Joe Sixpack.
I also enjoy Dr. Persinger's ideas on self healing. I've always believed we
have the individual ability to heal ourselves if we could only focus. I
believe things like stigmata, telepathy, and even levitation, are possible
with the proper focus of this most important organ.
To sum it all up, I think it is still important for an individual to seek
the divine without external influence - however, a little training would not
be out of line so long as the individual respects the experience.
