sound card and xp

I just installed XP prof. According to system my soundcard is working
properly (creative audio PCI (ES 1371, ES 1373) (WDM). checked the
volumecontols, tried to find new drivers, no succes.
Any ideas?

Uhhhh, do you have speakers? Are they plugged in? turned on?

Checked main volume, make sure wav, midi, etc are all up. Creative.com & get
latest drivers (yes, there are newer ones since XP came out)

Possibly remove card & reinstall in a different slot.

But my sounblaster 128 had also that name and was jittering in games.
after an upgrade with soundblaster w2k driver it was fixed.

I have the same soundcard, I used the fourth driver in the list, installed
easy and works fine .

Is it a Dell or Compaq or HP? If so go to the mfr's website and look
for an updated driver (for all of your system items) that are for XP
