i recently upgraded from win 98 to xp but i am now unable to use my smart
restore cd's which came with my pc,i downloaded update from packard bell web
site but this was for millenium not xp so it won't work,i am now in a bit of
a fix, because i did a clean install i cant get access to some of my
previous software,the original oem cd's i have,have microsoft word on them
and now i am lost without it,packard bell website only had upgrade for
millenium not xp,any help please please please

It would have been wise to run the compatibility wizard before you
installed. Obviously, the restore disks that came with your computer will
only restore the original installation.
You are out of luck. You will need to get updated versions of all the
software that does not work in XP (Windows 2000 versions nearly always
work).
